Aragon Iridium monoblock amplifier for parts or repairI bought this from a returns auction when I picked up the amp you could hear something sliding around inside. I opened the case and the coil was loose and the bolt for it was missing. The nut was in there loose. It looks to me that the nut came loose and the bolt fell out the bottom of the stereo and was lost. The coil sliding around put a dent in the back of the case and in 2 of the capacitors. I put a bolt with fender washers and a lock nut on the coil and it all looks good. I plugged the unit in and red light stays on which is low power idle mode according to the online manual I looked up. I have no way to do further testing on the unit. I do not know if it will need more repair so selling As Is for parts or repair.Cosmetics: There was a sticker on the top and someone tried to scratch it off. I used goof off and cleaned it up but there are some light scratches on top and there is the small dent on the back panel other that it looks new. Please see all the photos for details. It does have the original box but no packaging. I will pack it very well. It does not have any manuals or paperwork. This listing is for a very good condition Aragon Aurum pre-amplifier. This has the Ingot outboard power supply. This pre-amp features the famous Penny + Giles volume control. It is very low noise and accurate between left and right channels. This was Aragons top end pre-amp and is manufactured in the USA. All electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with audio specific models. Here is what was upgraded in the main unit and also the power supply; Ingot power supply-caps replaced with (2) Nichicon Gold Tune and (6) ELNA Silmic II-bridge rectifier replaced with (1) HEXFRED fast switching soft recovery bridge from IXYS Aurum Pre-Amp-all smaller and medium electrolytic caps replaced with ELNA Silmic II (14 pcs)-the (2) large filter caps replaced with Supertech slit foil audio circuit specific caps -feet on the Ingot and Aurum have been replaced with the Vibrapod isolators which helps with vibration isolation. The pre-amplifier has a very low noise floor, has great detail retrieval and excellent rhythm and pace, it gets our of the way and lets the music come through as in tended. The pre-amp is working 100% as new. The face and knobs are in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches or marks, the screen printed lettering is also very good.
