Acoustic Research AR3a PAIR Speakers WORKING Teak AR 1970s. Have been connected up and are in full Working order. Beautiful sound quality. However, they have been stored in different places so the colour of the teak varies and there are some water marks - please see pictures. The fronts can be easily replaced to freshen them up. This is one of the midranges I’m selling from a pair of AR3a Improved speakers. According to what I’ve read, the drivers are the same in the AR3a Improved speakers as in the regular AR3a speakers. The improvement is in the crossovers. To my ears, both this midrange and the other I’m selling sound great, and are equal in sound and volume. Both also seem to be factory replacements. One was perfect, the other had part of the wire screen dented partly in when I bought the speakers. Even though it still seemed to sound fine I pulled that wire screen out so it was no longer pushing in the dome. I don’t remember which it is but I assume it’s the other because the foam on that ones dome is somewhat off-center. I made a video of both these midranges at the same time so no one could say one is bad and I demonstrated the good one twice. I started with the radio’s own speaker for comparison. I haven’t used the AR3a Improved speakers much since refoaming the woofers because I had gotten more into video, and was using a subwoofer and smaller home theater speakers instead. I’m selling this midrange AS IS because it’s old and might not be quite perfect.

AR3a improved speakers. Good condition however it must be noted that the internal speaker will require replacement on one of the units.
