Vintage JVC Cassette Deck with Super ANRS model KD -A55 ,lights and meters works ,cassette works smoothly open/close ,here is what I noted when I tested it ,,I had some speakers that I modified with correct Plug In socket type plugs the only ones I have to test unit ,they didnt work for me ,but,headphones do work when plugged in ,the volume knob turns but sound stays at only one level ,not sure whats up with that ,this is good for the electrical savvy buyer . It might just need some tweaking ,who knows .

Up for auction is a JVC KD-A5 Stereo Cassette Deck with Super ANRS. I am selling this as a parts unit for repair. Here’s what I do know. It will rewind and fast forward just fine. As far as playback, sometimes it will play for a few minutes, then stop, other times you press play and it won’t move at all, then stop. This is the extent of my testing. Sold as-is, cosmetically in very good shape.

I also replaced that orange capacitor on the motor control board that likes to make these decks run slow. Features Super ANRS and Dolby B NR, metal and chrome tape recording/playback, Direct Drive capstan motor for very low wow and flutter, feather touch transport controls. It has a few scuffs seen in the photos, the metal trim piece is missing off of the bottom of the cassette door, and the cassette door eject dampener doesn’t really work. The door opens when you hit eject but not very gracefully. The mechanical tape counter also makes a clicking sound when fast winding. I tested all functions including record. I recorded for a few minutes on a vintage Maxell XLII tape and it sounds great and it also erases the tape fine too. Please feel free to ask any questions. A Vintage / Original JVC Model KD-D2 Tape Player STEREO CASSETTE DECK w/ Dolby / ANRS / Metaperm - Not Fully Tested. As found recently, I brought it home & it powered right up. All of the basic functions seem to be working correctly & I played a couple of tapes. Sound quality through my lo-fi headphones was not great. Since this was the extent of my testing, I am selling it as you see it & NOT FULLY TESTED. Please ask any questions prior to placing a bid and/or auctions close. As in the title, the JVC KD65 cassette deckvisual condition very good for its age, a bit dirty - needs cleaning, not used for a long time, I remember that recently it slowed down a bit when the cassette reached half its length, all indicators work, generally it was in good working order, but unfortunately now when checking it, it started to load the tape. .. I heard from a friend that it may be the fault of the belt or roller.. Unfortunately, I do not know enough to check what is wrong, so I am listing it in the spare or repair category, which means no return!So I am asking you to reconsider the purchase to save me and myself nerves and time!The tape recorder worked a long time ago in a set with the JVS R-S7 receiver, which is also for sale at another auction.
