12 inch woofer from Working Altec Lancing Santana II (second version, not original release). This is the cast aluminum frame, 8 holes, Surface Mount version! Woofer was refoamed about 4 years ago by Central Florida Speaker Repair in Orlando. Had a flood and the Santana II cabinets got ruined - so parting them out. See video with woofer working as expected. Note recorded using my iPhone Microphone so..... FIT:This Woofer came from the second version of the Santana II speaker, It was also used in the Model 9 Series II. Make sure this this is the version need: 8 holesCast Aluminum Frame13.5 rim diameterSurface mount to the front baffle NOTE:This will not fit the original Santana II or the original Model 9! Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintage ALTEC-LANSING 2 inch cone tweeter removed from my ALTEC-LANSING Model 208 speakers, manufactured in 1982. ALTEC sourced this high frequency driver from Japan’s Tonegen, one of the world’s largest suppliers of OEM audio drivers. So, please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this capable, hard-to-find tweeter is correct for your needs. This ALTEC Model 208 tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. It has a structurally perfect paper cone and flawless voice coil dustcap, well-protected by the removable aluminum faceplate with acoustically-transparent grille. Plus, the anodized steel basket is in great shape with no dings, scratches, or oxidation, just some wear at the mount holes from hurried factory installation. Also, the +/- terminals measure the standard .205”, have never been soldered on the spades, and positive is the red gasket side. Overall, this tweeter is exceptionally well-preserved. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds terrific—very strong with clear upper frequency detail approaching the sparkly threshold of audibility. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 6.3? consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 2 13/16” square, the cone proper is 2?”, it stands 1?” tall (not including the 5” x 3” cover plate and raised screen), and the mount holes are spaced 2?” adjacent / 3?” diagonal apart, c-t-c. This is a great find if your ALTEC Model 208 has a blown tweeter and will have your speaker sounding its best again! And, long out of production, it’s a great spare to have on hand just in case. As pictured and described, this ALTEC LANSING 2” cone tweeter is offered at a competitive price.
