Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintage ALTEC-LANSING 2 inch cone tweeter removed from my ALTEC-LANSING Model 208 speakers, manufactured in 1982. ALTEC sourced this high frequency driver from Japan’s Tonegen, one of the world’s largest suppliers of OEM audio drivers. So, please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this capable, hard-to-find tweeter is correct for your needs. This ALTEC Model 208 tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. It has a structurally perfect paper cone and flawless voice coil dustcap, well-protected by the removable aluminum faceplate with acoustically-transparent grille. Plus, the anodized steel basket is in great shape with no dings, scratches, or oxidation, just some wear at the mount holes from hurried factory installation. Also, the +/- terminals measure the standard .205”, have never been soldered on the spades, and positive is the red gasket side. Overall, this tweeter is exceptionally well-preserved. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds terrific—very strong with clear upper frequency detail approaching the sparkly threshold of audibility. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 6.3? consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 2 13/16” square, the cone proper is 2?”, it stands 1?” tall (not including the 5” x 3” cover plate and raised screen), and the mount holes are spaced 2?” adjacent / 3?” diagonal apart, c-t-c. This is a great find if your ALTEC Model 208 has a blown tweeter and will have your speaker sounding its best again! And, long out of production, it’s a great spare to have on hand just in case. As pictured and described, this ALTEC LANSING 2” cone tweeter is offered at a competitive price. There are two rectifier tubes. All tubes are vintage and all included. The amp powers up OK but I dont know how to test it as I dont see any input, and not sure which wire is for output. Were selling a rare vintage Altec Lansing model 12210 racking mounting assembly for a 342B tube amplifier. This assembly was removed from a 342B amp prior to listing. The front green panel is slightly bent on both sides (see photos). The unit does attach to a rack nicely with any issues. There is wear from use/storage like scratches, scuff, dust and some paint chips. Sold AS IS, please see high-res photos for more details. Dimension: 19 width 8-3/4 height Details regarding mounting from Altec manual: The 12210 Assembly is available to adapt the 342B amplifier for rack mounting. It requires five units of rack space (8-3/4) and consists of a mounting shelf, two shims, and front mat. Installation is accomplished by fastening the shelf to the bottom of the 342B amplifier chassis by means of four screws through the slots in the shelf and in turn mounting the whole assembly to the rack. The two shims are screwed to the rack rails. Mount the front mat over the panel by means of screws through the four inserts provided on the shelf and shims.
