Pristine condition Akai GXC-730d Stereophonic Cassette Deck. This was recently serviced including new belts for FF, Rew and Counter, lubrication, complete cleaning and head alignment check, cleaning and demagnetization. Both meters work smoothly and accurately, switches, lights and LEDs work as they should. All controls and switches work smoothly and without static. Heads and rollers have been cleaned and tape heads demagnetized. Wood veneer has been hand oiled and the original Cabinet made of wood product covered with durable wood grain vinyl material sticker is still on after almost 50 years. This is a heavy, well built cassette deck. You can record and play in either direction too. I have sold my other almost new in box one already and this one has been trouble free for many years. It has had light use throughout its life. Rewinds and fast forwards incredibly fast but protects the tape from stretching with its unique design incorporated into the electronics. I just got this back from service and have recorded all my tapes over to MP3 so I am thinning the herd. It has been used maybe 5 or 6 hours since the service and functions as new. The limiter circuit is a really nice feature and also acts as a compressor that comes in handy for making tapes for your car (increases volumes in quiet parts of music) and sounds awesome like the 1980s top 40 radio stations used to do.
