hiermit biete ich eine sehr gepflegte und technisch überholte AKAI-Bandmaschine GX-650D zum Kauf. Es handelt sich um eine Semiprofessionelle Bandmaschine mit drei Motoren, drei Geschwindigkeiten (9,5-19-38cm/sec), vier Spuren, Doppel-Capstan-Bandführung und völlig verschleißfreien GX-Tonköpfen. Die GX-650 war seinerzeit das Topmodell des Herstellers. AKAI gehörte seinerzeit sicher zu den meistverkauften HIFI-Tonbandgeräten im oberen Preissegment. Als ganz besonderen Vorteil gegenüber den damaligen Wettbewerbern verfügt auch die GX-650D über die von Akai entwickelten völlig abriebfesten „Focus-Field“ Glass-Ferrit-Aufnahme/Wiedergabe-Tonköpfe. Diese Eigenschaft der verschleißfreien Tonköpfe war damals das Verkaufsargument schlechthin. Damit hatte Akai Anfang der 80iger sogar die Verkaufszahlen von Revox übertroffen. Das hatte meines Wissens kein Wettbewerber anzubieten. Und es stimmt, auch bei diesem zum Verkauf stehenden Gerät gibt es keine Abnutzung der Köpfe, die Frequenzgänge und alle anderen technischen Daten wurden geprüft und entsprechen der Spezifikation (s. Fotos). Selbst bei der niedrigsten Geschwindigkeit von 9,5cm/sec erreicht dieses Gerät einen Frequenzgang bis 20kHz. Bei 19cm/sec. Sind es etwa 25kHz und bei 38cm/sec etwa 30kHz! Deutlich über der Hörgrenze, das ist wirklich spitze. Die Frequenzgänge wurden nach Service-Doc. gemessen mit Maxell 35-180B (Back-Couted) in Tape-Einstellung „Low-Noise“. Ich habe ein paar Fotos beigefügt. Es sind sogenannte „Hinterband“-Aufnahmen, d.h. das was auf Band aufgezeichnet wurde ist auf den Bildern zu sehen. Und zwar beide Kanäle (R/L) auf dem Oszi in gelb/blau. Als weitere Besonderheit verfügt dieses Gerät über einen sogenannten Doppel-Capstan Bandantrieb. D.h. das Band wird sowohl vor den Tonköpfen- als auch hinter den Tonköpfen transportiert. Dadurch erreicht man einen extrem ruhigen, gleichmäßigen und vor allen Dingen jitterfreien Bandlauf an den Köpfen. Auf den beigefügten Aufnahmen kann man das schon ganz gut erkennen, beide Kanäle sind auch bei hohen Frequenzen perfekt gleich und ohne Jitter. Jitter ist eine unregelmäßige horizontale Phasen-Verschiebung der beiden Kanäle zueinander, die durch leichte unvermeidbare Unregelmäßigkeiten des Antriebs und der Bandführung entsteht. Sehen kann man so etwas nur auf den Oszilloskop-Aufnahmen. Man sieht auch an den Aufnahmen, dass die Azimuteinstellung (vertikale senkrechte Einstellung) der Köpfe perfekt ist. Beide Kanäle sind auch bei hohen Frequenzen fast nicht phasenverschoben. Auf Wunsch kann ich weitere Bilder nachliefern.Noch ein paar Informationen zu den beigefügten Frequenz-Fotos: Es sind immer beide aufgezeichneten Kanäle R/L in gelb/blau zu sehen (Hinterbandfunktion). Wenn beide Kanäle phasengleich sind, sieht man natürlich nur eine dicke Linie. Referenz sind vier Kästchen in der Höhe. Während der Messungen werden natürlich keine Veränderungen der Einstellungen vorgenommen. D.h. kleinere oder größere Amplituden bedeuten mehr oder weniger Wiedergabe-Pegel. Phasenversatz bedeutet, man sieht zwei Kurven etwas nebeneinander verschoben. So kann man den Frequenzverlauf und die Phasenlage der beiden Kanäle zueinander recht einfach darstellen. Bild 1 bei 9,5cm/sec und 18kHz, Bild 2 19cm/sec und 25kHz, Bild 3 38cm/sec. und 30kHz über Band gemessen mit Maxell 35-180B (Back-Coated). Natürlich habe ich den gesamten Frequenzverlauf von 50Hz aufwärts in Stufen auf diese Weise gemessen. Was wurde erneuert? Beide Capstan-Andruckrollen sowie Teile der Bandführung wurden erneuert, Die Instrumentenbeleuchtung wurde auf LED-Licht umgerüstet. Die Zählwerkbeleuchtung ebenfalls. Der Zählwerk-Antriebsriemen wurde ebenfalls erneuert sowie die vorderen Bedienungsregler durch massive speziell angefertigte Alu-Regler ersetzt. Ich hatte das Gerät 2001 ohne Bedienregler gebraucht erworben…Dem Vorbesitzer waren die Bedienknöpfe Abhanden gekommen, weil die Kinder daran gespielt hatten. Die Knöpfe waren nicht mehr auffindbar. Einen neuen unbenutzten Capastan-Riemen hatte ich mir vor Jahren „zur Sicherheit“ mal zugelegt, diesen liefere ich ebenfalls mit. Ebenso Service-, Bed.-Anleitung und Verkaufs-Flyer zu diesem Gerät. Alle Schalter wurden soweit erforderlich zerlegt, gereinigt und geprüft. Ich garantiere, dass das angebotene Gerät nicht nur einwandfrei, sondern perfekt funktioniert. Der Käufer wird noch viele Jahre Freude an dem Gerät haben. Ich verkaufe das Gerät schweren Herzens wegen Hobbyaufgabe aus Altersgründen. Nichtraucher-Haushalt. Das Gerät ist für 230/240V eingestellt. Ein Betrieb an anderen Spannungen (z.Bsp. 110V) ist möglich, erfordert aber ein Umlöten des Netztrafos vom Fachmann. Privatverkauf ohne Umtausch und ohne Gewährleistung. Nichtraucher. Das Gerät ist mit fast 30kg sehr schwer. Das Gerät wird daher sehr aufwändig verpackt um Beschädigungen im Versand zu vermeiden. Akai GX-630DSS GX-650D magazine ad. From the October 76 issue of Audio Magazine. It is an original. In good condition. Safely packed, we do include a stiff cardboard insert, the insert and ad wrapped with saran wrap and a Please Do Not Bend sticker on the envelope to help preserve the integrity of the ad.

This has been , recapped (all electrolytic capacitors replaced) , serviced and calibrated by me to a good stock standard . 4 track , 3 3/4 , 7.5 , 15ips Its missing the head cover which is a shame but it doesnt effect how good it sounds and doesnt look terrible on this paticular machine . I have reduced the price a lot for that reason though . Normally this would go for 1500 ish with the head cover . This is a VERY large and heavy machine , hence the shipping cost .

AKAI GX-650D Reel to Reel Tape Machine. Serviced last year by Retroamps, Devon. Fantastic machine. 3 speed 3 3/4, 7 1/2, and 15ips. Had less than 10 hrs use since being serviced and aligned. Very good cosmetic condition with some age related wear to case. Below is an extract taken from the web. The GX-650D is absolutely the more professional version of the GX-630D and might also be the successor of the GX-400D, although it was not available in a 2 Track Stereo version. This set has 3 speeds (3.75, 7.5 and 15 i.p.s.) and a belt driven, dual capstan mechanism. The GX-650D main motor is the servo-controlled, model SCM3-16TW. Both pinch rollers are activated by their own solenoids, there’s another solenoid to pull the tape guides and another one to release the brakes. The tape path is symmetrical. The GX-650D is one of the only sets which has a Hall Effect Sensor near the left reel motor which checks if the left reel table is still in motion. By means of this sensor, a quick change between tape functions can be accomplished. Finally, this 4 track, 2 channel set has an S.O.S. switch and a cue function. The GX-650D uses the same Servo-Controlled Capstan Motor and belt drive system to power two flywheels with dual center capstans at 15 ips, 7.5 ips and 3.75 ips, as in the GX-400D, GX-400D-PRO, GX-400D-ss, and PRO-1000. Behind the reels, the GX-650D has the outer-rotor reel motors later found in the GX-630D. Yet, unlike the other later Akai sets with the exception of the Servo-Control Board, as seen in the GX-400D, the GX-650D has no PC boards in common with any other Akai.
