Aiwa Stereo 600 CS-600K Boombox. Very bad condition. Turns on, lights up. The FM radio works well and sounds nice and clear, bass/Treble and pan L/R knobs work. Sounds good to my amateur ears. Bad points as follows. 1) terrible cosmetic condition. Lots of scratches and a large crack on the bottom corner (see photo 12) 2) No aerial or power cable. 3) cassette player doesnt work due to the rubber bands disintegrating with age. I can hear the main motor operating, but cassette controls will operate due to rubber bands disintegrating. Eject button works fine. There may be further issues that I have not identified, so please use the photos and the description to gauge the likely general condition. Its in very bad condition cosmetically, and will definitely require servicing to get cassette functionality working. Dont forget there is no cable or aerial. Please see photos for condition and whats included. You get exactly whats shown in the photos. Thanks for looking.

Typical over engineered late mid to late 1970s build quality, enormous transformer and huge power supply capacity. Very well made and designed, built like a tank. This beautiful vintage Aiwa receiver holds its own against the bigger known brands like pioneer marantz technics kenwood rotel Yamaha sansui etc.. it outperforms the equivalent model from most of these brands and better looking than some too. I have a copy of the original purchase receipt of £232.80 dated from 1978! I also have the original operating instructions manual with the unit This was part of Aiwa first receiver line-up consisting of 3 models the AX-7400, AX-7500 and the largest and most powerful of the range the AX-7600 which is listed here for sale. Some bulbs on the tuning dial need replacing as they no longer illuminate I haven’t tested the phono section as I do not have a turntable to test it. using the tape and aux inputs the amplifier works perfectly. I can not seem to get a signal on fm just static, the signal meters don’t seem to move much, I have not tried connecting an antenna so unsure if the fm tuner works correctly, the am tuner seems to be functioning as the unit comes with a built in am antenna Overall this is an excellent vintage Hifi amplifier with the stunning 1970s receiver wars look and build quality. This is a Aiwa Compact Disc Stereo Cassette Receiver CX-ZM2600K + Aiwa PX-E850 turntable. The specifications are in the photographs. I have tested the cd player, tape players and the turntable which all work. Purchased by my dad over 25 years ago this has been looked after and hardly used.
