Super nice Adcom 565 Preamp. One of the nicest preamps Ive owned, look it up. Really high regarded. This is a super clean well cared for example. Will ship well packed, double boxed. Excerpt from Stereophile (personally, I used the direct-coupled Lab outputs)d like to correct a potential misunderstanding (a dealer I know was even confused) regarding Adcoms current product line. Although the physical appearance of the GFP-565 is virtually identical to Adcoms older GFP-555 preamplifier, the 565 bears absolutely no internal resemblance to the 555, and as such it is not an updated GFP-555. Adcom is preparing a completely redesigned GFP-555, called the GFP-555 II, which will retain the physical appearance and $500 price tag of its predecessor. By retaining the same case, front, and rear panels used in the GFP-555 for both of their new preamps, Adcom has been able to put all of their money into the circuitry of these new products, rather than spending some of it retooling the mechanical parts. I firmly agree with this philosophy. Like the GTP-400 tuner/preamp, the GFP-565 combines the design talents of Walt Jung and Adcoms product-development director C. Victor Campos. The 565s main amplification circuitry and power supplies were designed by Walt, while component selection was a collaborative effort. Walts contributions involve far more than the fine-tuning of existing circuitry, since the phono preamp and line-level stages employ unique circuit topologies which he developed. Walts reputation as the foremost authority on the use of IC op-amps in high-performance audio circuitry is further reinforced by the GFP-565 preamp, in my opinion. Victor Campos brought his rare talents for realizing a first-class design through the final stages of production without compromising the performance along the way. In fact, the production version of the GFP-565 is, if anything, slightly better than the pre-production prototype I first evaluated. As has been the case with other Adcom products, the 565 is completely American in design, and although the main printed circuit board is manufactured in the Far East, final component assembly and testing are done right in East Brunswick, NJ. The GFP-565 was designed to satisfy purists, who normally demand as simple a signal path as possible, as well as those audiophiles in need of a full-featured preamp. These two seemingly contradictory requirements were addressed by supplying the 565 with three sets of outputs. The bypass outputs are intended for the purists (among whom I include myself). No tone controls or filters corrupt the signal path when the bypass outputs are used, but the balance control is still operational. The bypass outputs are also direct-coupled, eliminating any possibility of sonic degradation normally associated with coupling capacitors. The bypass outputs still allow the use of an external processing loop, so they are not absolutely purist in the sense of minimizing every possible switch contact. A mono switch and loudness contour are also available when the bypass outputs are used, but the contour switch and its associated filter components are connected to a tap on the volume control, so these components and switch contacts are not in the signal path. Like the GTP-400, the loudness contours characteristics are based on the studies of Robinson and Dadson. The contour characteristics are gradually reduced as the volume control is advanced, but the circuit should be switched out when listening at normal volume levels.

This is for all three Adcom pieces First is the GFP - 565 Preamplifier which was Designed by Walt Jung and is a legendary preamp that is in perfect working condition and the original caps are in perfect working condition with absolutely no static in the controls and Ive owned it for 20 years and it needs nothing and has one of the best phono Preamplifiers Ive ever used Im also including the GFT 555 II tuner which matches the Preamplifier and Power Amplifier. And maybe the most underrated Amplifier Ive ever owned the GFA 535 which is the first generation that was designed by the legendary Nelson Pass . The claimed power is 60 wpc in 8ohms and 100 wpc in 4ohms but my speakers are very hard to drive and my previous Amplifier needed all of its 500wpc to push but miraculously this little amp makes them sound fantastic. Being used there are a couple of nicks but over all they in very good condition

FOR SALE: One pair of used Adcom GFA-565 mono-block power amplifiers (2 units). Both amplifiers were professionally serviced in 2018 to repair damage caused by leaking capacitors (a common problem for this particular model). These amplifiers were the second of two pairs used in my home stereo and theater systems for many years (hence numbers 3 and 4 in the photos; units 1 and 2 were sold earlier in 2023 via eBay). Serial numbers are 014215063 (Amplifier #3) and 951211927 (Amplifier #4). These units will only be sold as a pair. Both amplifiers are fully functional, sound wonderful, and are being offered for sale as-is. Please read my specific comments and descriptions of the subject amplifiers below. Appearance: Cosmetically, both units have blemishes and scratches (normal wear and tear) due to frequent use and movement in/out of various home stereo and theater configurations over the years, but are considered above-average (7 to 7.5 out of 10) for their age. I will send additional close-up photos of both units upon request. Sound and Performance: I have used these amplifiers with a pair of NHT 2.9 tower loud speakers. Sonically, both amplifiers sound excellent and have performed very well since being professionally serviced in 2018. Please note Amplifier #4 does make (actually the speaker connected to Amplifier #4 emits) a momentary static pop when that unit is initially powered on (the noise/sound Im trying to describe is audibly louder than when powering on Amplifier #3 or a similar high-current power amplifier), which could indicate an issue with the main power switch or circuit. I have not sought professional service for this unit, as it does not affect the audio performance of Amplifier #4 once powered on and in use (nor am I a professional qualified to diagnose what the actual cause of this might be). This preamp, like everything else this customer has brought in to list, is in brand new condition. Phono, CD, Tuner, Tape 1, Tape 2, Video/Aux stereo inputs. Tested and functions perfectly. No issue at all. It comes with all the paperwork from when new. If a pre-amp is what you are looking for, the transparent sound of this ADCOM will be an impressive addition to your system. Up for sale is a complete set of Adcom GFA-565 amplifiers and GFP-565 pre-amplifier. They come in the orignal boxes along with a manual for each unit and an Adcom pamphlet style advertisement featuring the unit. The amplifiers are untested, as I do not have any speakers of compatible wattage. They both power on. The pre-amp is in working condition as far as I can tell, and I have been using it with my record player without issue. I am not an expert in high fidelity audio equipment and cant certify the performance of these units. They are sold as is, so please consider that these may need servicing to meet your expectations and ask any questions you have before bidding.

I am selling my gently used Adcom GFP-565 preamp. I am the original owner and bought this new in 1992. I dont need all these inputs anymore since I have down-sized and all I am running on this system these days is a TV and CD player. It is in excellent condition and has been really well taken care of in my non-smoking home for all these years. 2 of the little rubber bumpers on the sides of the cabinet are missing and there is a broken screw on the bottom panel (from my cleaning it periodically over 30 years), but everything else is in good shape. I recently cleaned all of the switches & pots with Deoxit so everything works and sounds amazing. Comes with manual.

Very rare and harder and harder to find, this Adcom Stereo GFA 565 Mono Block Amplifier set, 300 watts per channel into 8ohms, comes complete with Hoppe’s Brain driver board and capacitor upgrade and overhaul, correcting the eventual leaky capacitor problem. The amps come in original factory boxes, with instructions manual. Cosmetically rated 8 or 9 depending on how picky you are, very minor wear and working condition rated 10. Runs quietly and perfectly and presently easily driving a $20,000 pair of Carver Amazing Line Source Speakers. Shipping on 2 Amplifier boxes by UPS will be approximately $65 each, final shipping price will be determined and sent before final mailing. Amazing sounding “Top of the Line” Adcom GFP-565 preamplifier. Phono stage plays both moving magnet and moving coil phono cartridges. Preamp works flawlessly. I have been using an integrated amp and have not used this component for years. I plugged it into my current set up and ran it for several days.Everything works perfectly and it sounds wonderful. You will not be disappointed. It has always lived an easy life and looks great.
