For sale is a used Adcom GFP-565 stereo preamplifier. Its in really nice shape. I recapped it with Epcos electrolytics for the main power supply. Nichicon FineGold were used elsewhere. The preamp has been fully cleaned. All the jack were cleaned and then treated with Caig conditioner.The preamp has been fully tested and works without incident. Adcom did a really nice job here to make this preamp a standout. They used a remote function switch to keep the signal path short. Alps volume and balance potentiometers to keep signal balance even. Copper buss bars to move power from one section to another. Roederstein resistors. Direct coupling used throughout. And 3 sets of outputs. Bypass pulls the signal before any filters or tone controls but keeps the volume and balance in circuit. . Lab output direct couples the signal and includes the tone controls ,etc. and Normal output includes an coupling cap in the output. A very high quality cap at that.Phono input for moving magnet and moving coil cartridges. All sales are final. This does not mean you will get stuck with a non functioning unit. US sales only please. THE PRIZE Here is another fine offering from the audio labs of Morris Electronic Repair Boutique This ADCOM GFA-565 Monoblock is in beautiful condition, which has been completely refurbished. This is a very rare classic. At 350 Watts / 8 This baby will not only light up your Wilson Audio Sophia Series 3, but will power any speaker in the world! At 450 Watts /4 or 850 Watts / 2 continuous, it will handle the most demanding loads. The clarity, musical definition and sound stage will literally speaking “ blow you away”!! You are not going to find many of these around, for the lucky people that own them keep them! The design and power is second to none. This is a very HIGH CURRENT amplifier, with a combined rail capacitance of 70.000 uf , gives lots of head room. This 565 has a time delay circuitry (soft start) to apply the bias voltage after all the amplification circuits are up to speed, eliminating the speaker thump on power up, and also to protect your speakers in case of circuit issues. I personally would put this 565 up against any of the big boys like Krell - McIntosh - Jeff Rowland - Classe Audio, PS Audio etc. It will hold it’s own, if not easily surpass. This amplifier is the pinnacle of audiophile euphoria. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE SOMETHING NEW: There is a BIG DIFFERENCE with this 565, from the original. The driver PCB is a brand new double layered board. ALL the components on the driver PCB are brand new, 1% audio grade components from US mfg. Vishay, kemet etc. (very expensive) The driver heat sinks are enlarged from original to dissipate the heat more effectively. Everything on the PCB has been upgraded to the highest audio grade component’s to give the best low noise sound reproduction possible. Plus expect to get a minimum of 30 years service from this refurbished amplifier, before any degradation of components. I am a one man shop, with 30 years as a electronic tech, so each piece of high quality audio equipment gets my personal attention, of which I repair, clean, adjust, and inspect everything as if I were keeping for my own. I have personally been completely through the internals of this GFA-565 (as you can see by the pictures) insuring everything is to factory specs. I have many exhausting man hours in the refurbishing of this amplifier and with populating the new driver PCB with all brand new components. Because this amplifier was so special, I gave it extra care. I leave no stone unturned. So you can buy with confidence knowing you are going to receive two very high quality amplifier’s in perfect condition electronically. This unit has undergone hours of testing and burn in under load, driven by a Harman Kardon CD 491 player into a Harmon Kardon 825 preamp into Paradigm B/P Espirit 300 w Towers. The externals are in better than new condition. The driver board is populated with all new audio grade 1% tolerant components. The bias voltage was adjusted to 23.5 mV.The two electrolytic 47uf /100wvdc are new on the output modules and have been upgraded to 100 uF / 160 wvdc.All the caps on the soft start board are new. The rail capacitors of 35,000 uF have checked out to be 36,400 uF each.The rail capacitors allowed leakage of 9,000 uA, have been check to be 580 uA & 510 uAAll electrical connections have been cleaned & deoxidized with Deoxit - D5 cleaner® The S/N # is 032200 THD is .002% which is incredibly low! Plus at any frequency it is less than .02%The DC offset voltage at the speaker terminals is .2mV (perfect)These units draw .8 amp’s at 115vac per unit at idle.This 565 has been retrofitted with IEC power receptacle so you can purchase any after market power cord and plug in.
