Adcom GFA-555 II Stereo Amplifier for parts or repair. This amp has been in dry Colorado storage for about 10 years. Before that it lived an easy life in my upstairs living room. I started using it again very recently. I had to adjust the balance a bit to the right to get both speakers to play at the same volume. I thought that perhaps the signal capacitors were shot. I replaced them with the exact value Mundorf film capacitors. I always thought the Adcom amp sounded great…I was surprised just how much better it now sounded. The bios was set perfectly but the balance was still off. After a couple of days listening the right channel started distorting and blew a fuse. The signal board failed. See pictures. A new board and components to repair the amp are available from various sources. I feel that this repair is over my head. Maybe someone will take on this amp.
