When a CD is placed in the tray and the play button is pushed, the device will restart and will not play the CD. In terms of sound quality, the speakers got a bit crackly when the volume was cranked up to about the middle of the volume switch. This device was manufactured in May of 1993 so this was not incredibly surprising. The Radio/Aux on off button and the Input normal aux buttons are functional and switched accordingly. The lower disc changer is fully functional and allows the wave music system to play music. Cosmetically, this device is in fair condition. There is some slight panel yellowing present. The LCD displays are clean with few markings. There is a slight chip on the top right corner of the system; however the grilles and panels are in good condition. A remote is NOT included. A power cable IS included. Only what is pictured is included. Doesnt work. Powers on. 2 eject lights stay on, motor runs and says please wait. I tried opening it to take a look inside and it seems the cover is jammed. Couldnt get it off. Maybe you can figure it out. Does NOT come with a power cord. Only have one and am using to sell with a working unit. Being sold AS IS.

The unit powered on played and responded to all buttons but when we went to eject the discs it would not eject and eventually reset. We are not the original owners of the unit and we do not know the history. Purchase includes the disc changer as shown in the photos only. We are not accepting returns on this purchase.

Acoustic Research AR XA Universal Model Turntable, Serial No. XA208977 **FOR PARTS or RESTORATION**. Two piece platter is in excellent condition, includes nice felt mat. The tonearm is in good condition but could use a cleaning, original counter weight looks great. One of the thread inserts in the original headshell is broken out. Includes a Shure M91ED cartridge but no stylus. The plinth top is faded and has, what looks to be, a stain that was once the belt. The pulley is the 60hz models and also has belt residue on it. The tonearm stand is broken off, it just kind of sits there in the hole. The wood base needs a little love. It is almost completely intact with only a few dings and chips in the veneer, missing the AR badge. The suspension seems to be good, but I did not remove the bottom. I did plug it in and run the motor. It makes a little clicking sound without the belt on. I found a belt that fit (a little tight) and the plater turned with a little help getting started. The clicking sound went away with the belt on. I also checked continuity from the tonearm to the RCA jacks, 0 ohm on all four.
