A Step Down transformer is required for using this tester in the UK. When switched on there is hardly any noise coming from the transformer. It begins to hum after about 15-20 mins and increases further. I have used it regularly for up to 30 mins. to test valves with accurate results. The transformer will have to be repaired or replaced eventually so I have listed it as For Spares or Repair. A compact tester measuring just 27 x 23 x 10 cm high with a solid case. The outer covering is marked in places as shown in the photos. Both panel and meter are in very good condition with the panel also housing the 7 and 9 pin straighteners. The meter face is clear and the movement is fine. New USA mains lead fitted. Serviced with all out of spec. components replaced and upgraded. Switches and sockets cleaned and lubricated. One of the easiest testers to operate even if you have never used one before. Check for shorts first, if no light is shown then proceed to the quality test. It can test a lot of valves including KT66, KT88, ECC81,82,83 etc. Just ask if it can test a valve you have. Pick up welcome, demo can be given.
