Serviced A&R Cambridge A60 integrated stereo amp with wooden surround. When I received this amp it was not working. It has since been overhauled by an extremely experienced professional electronics engineer of some 50 years standing. The HT fuses had blown. All four of the power transistors were missing the essential insulating washer between transistor and heatsink. The power transistors have now been replaced correctly. He also cleaned the input selector switches and fitted a mains lead and plug with 3A fuse, checking the important voltages which now look ok. I have to say it sounds fantastic - really detailed top end and warm, not too boomy bass. The accompanying video is just to show it works, really, as my test speakers and phone mic obviously cannot do justice to this excellent bit of kit. Cosmetically, its sound. Theres a small section of veneer missing to the left-hand front edge, and some scratches on top which could be polished out. I will leave any cabinet restoring to the new buyer. Free UK Shipping. Very good condition. 5 pin din sockets. All original except for the power lead and plug which I had upgraded so as to obtain P.A.T. compliance.

2 units of A&R Cambridge A60 Integrated Amplifier. I switched on the bottom unit to test, but it didnt work. I stopped there and didnt even attempt the 2nd one as I dont have the correct input connectors. Sold as seen and 1 not working, the 2nd unkown. They are VERY heavy, so postage covers the weight.

A&R Cambridge A60 integrated stereo amp with wooden surround. ARCAMA classic vintage amp dated 1971 internally .These amps are still considered to be excellent and could form the basis of a great system . This is a Din version .phono versions came later Cosmetically the amp is reasonable with, some scratches on the front face and wear on the knobs . This was one of only a few originally finished in black , may were resprayed by owners ,including myself when black was the trend in the late seventies . I have given this one a couple of coats of matt black spray as the finish was quite worn .Definitely not a professional finish but presentable . I have also inspected the amp interlay ,no sign of leaking capacitors .All controls have been cleaned with switch cleaner and are noise free .The amp has been bench tested fir several hours , As with all amplifies of this age I would recommend a thorough service is undertaken with capacitors replaced to ensure future reliability .
