The motor is a high torque brushless design adapted from shipboard gyro and features a floating magnetic bearing. The unique motor system is a direct drive dc servo motor pod that hangs within an upper plinth opening. It features a integral small dia. The stainless steel platform incorporating the the spindle that rotates at the chosen speed 10-99 rpm, atop that rides a triangular plate with three stainless cylinder that support the LP.
