I dont have an amplifier anymore but plugged my phone into them and sound could be heard all be it very quietly. So finally managed to test with an amp and they sound fine. Proper bass monsters. It was using a 50 year old noisy Leak amplifier that we had forgotten about in the loft and cheap speaker cable but still sounded pretty good. Potential buyers are welcome to bring an amp with them to try them out.
