Excellent quality Arcam Alpha 5 is a classical audiophile player made with the very best parts available at its time - the famous TDA 1541a DAC, possibly the most musical dac chip ever and equally famous Philips CDM 9 swing arm laser mechanism, the perfect technical match to the dac.Model 5 PLUS has some significant improvements, central of them is DATA reclock suppressing jitter and improving sonic performance even further.
