Up for sale is my Yamaha CX-2 which is super clean, completely functional, with remote and a deal for someone! However, it has some blemishes that were present when I purchased it over five years ago and discounted for that reason. It is still handsome in the cabinet for sure. See the shallow dents at the top right and the missing foot at bottom, replaced with a Sorbothane pad.No need to list the CX-2 specs as it is well known that this is an audiophile item. They were produced by Yamaha between 1992-99. There are lots of connections and MM and MC phono options. The pure-direct setting is wonderful as reported by its users and I agree. PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION ****UPDATE*** I just set this up again to test for someone interested with a question, and I have discovered the right side is now out as well. There must be some component that ages out with these over time, as the right side was perfectly working when removed from service 1 year ago.Original description: This is my Yamaha CX-2000 pre-amp that I purchased new in 1989 or 1990. I forget exactly when, but around that time. It has served me extremely well, and I have loved it for these past 35 years. I would still be using it, but I have grown tired of sending it for service. The left channel is out…again. It has been worked on twice for a cracked solder connection, which is a relatively simple repair, but this time, I believe something different is wrong, as wiggling the output RCA jack has no affect. The left side started fading out a few minutes after being turned on, and increasing the volume would bring it back. I thought I had it traced to a scratchy balance pot, because that used to bring it reliably back if it ever cut out. It now no longer does, and I lack the knowledge, patience, and equipment to further troubleshoot. There is also no longer a local place I can bring it in for repair, and I don’t want to ship back and forth. I have reason to believe the repair should be a simple one, as this was a gradual decline in the output over time, NOT a poof and done. :) no smoke, nothing burned up. At the time of writing the original description a week or two ago, the right side was fully functional. It no longer is. This has a million ins and outs for various audio and video.
