In good condition. **It’s only flaw is the three chrome sliders along the bottom that control timer, balance and input level are missing BUT can be easily adjusted with your finger(nail). All features work. There is one of the 4 very thin feet pads missing, but I can’t tell any real difference- seems to sit level with 3 of the 4. This Technics RS-B50 is a stereo cassette deck with Dolby B and C and DBX noise reduction, it was first sold by Technics in 1984 with a list price of US $230. The main features of the Technics RS-B50 are: 2 heads, mechanical 3 digit tape counter, tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome and metal tapes with automatic equalization selection, belt driven single-capstan transport. Typical front loading cassette deck with the cassette compartiment located on the left side of the deck. Tape eject is operated mechanically and the cassette needs to be placed with the side to be played facing forward in the cassette well. Level meters used on the RS-B50 are generic digital peak reading meters with multi-color indication to provide visual saturation level of tape. Full-logic transport controls used on the RS-B50 let it respond to the slightest finger contact for fast and effortless transport function selection. I’ve tested recording with mic input and it records well. I/O level meters work well also.

This Technics is an excellent tape deck that works, but could use some tlc. It plays tapes fine, but it could probably use a tape head servicing and cleaning. All the Dolby functions work. The Dolby C button is a little wonky, but it still functions. This was an excellent tape deck for its time and still is. This one has been used and has some marks and scratches on the case, but it works. Enjoy.

Pretty sweet little unit I picked up hoping to play my tape collection through. Unfortunately, none of the buttons work. Idk whats wrong with it. VU meters light up, and they jump when I load a cassette in it. I opened it up looking for something obvious like a fuse but I couldnt see anything. I did see the big motor wheel thing by the deck itself spinning around. Belt running to the counter looks in tact and fine. Im guessing something is wrong with the board with the controls? I really dont know. I have no knowledge when it comes to fixing these things. Looking to pass it on to someone who can bring it back to life because its sweet. I bought another deck this is just taking up space
