The M216 is an impressive looking and great sounding classic cassette deck. It has very precise and attractive fluorescent peak-hold level meters, and can handle all popular tape types, including CrO2 and Metal as well as standard Type I ferric cassettes. This deck is very solidly built, with quality electrical components and an unusually large and heavy capstan flywheel (to minimize wow and flutter). It includes Dolby B noise reduction and has front panel mounted microphone inputs as well as the usual line level L/R RCA (phono) inputs and outputs on the rear. This deck has been serviced, including checking all belts, cleaning and replacing where needed, cleaning the switches and potentiometers, and testing and cleaning the internal electrical contacts. The electrical alignment has been checked, using a test cassette, oscilloscope, signal generator and external level meters. This process covers the recording levels, playback levels, meter calibration, bias and tape speed. It has been inspected for electrical safety and put through a full PAT test, in line with current guidance. The tape transport has been tested, cleaned and demagnetised. All rubber parts have been cleaned and treated with Rubber Renue, which restores them to their original specification and performance. It is in very good cosmetic condition for a machine of this era. The front and back panels are in nice shape and the display is clear & bright. There are a few surface marks on the lid, as you often find with stackable Hi-Fi equipment, but these are unlikely to be visible once installed and theres nothing that takes away from the fantastic classic looks of this deck. The Stereo Receiver works on all channels and has virtually no crackling when dials and switches are operated. The stylus looks relatively new and has a protective cover with it. The only issue is the Turntable hinges which have snapped unfortunately. The lid is without cracks but has scratches. It does require a 4 way in-line unit (included) - see photos but the Turntable can run off a conventional figure 8 plug and lead if you wish. The Turntable is much deeper than the amp and tape deck so would advise putting it on a seperate shelf (not resting it on top as seen in photos) Manual for Turntable and Reciever are included as well Stereo RCA leads you see in the photos. Lappareil fonctionne, toutes les touches et les boutons fonctionnent correctement, les courroies sont en bon état et elles ne font aucun bruit.Le son, en revanche, ne sort que dun seul coté.
