Here is and interesting piece of kit, a Tascam Portastudio 414. This is largely made by Teac internally, as i discovered whilst servicing the players belts and mechanics etc. The tape heads, mechanism, and drive is in great condition, fully working of course, and should be good for a long time to come. This has 4 independent channels of input, each capable of instrument, line, or mic options of input to be recorded. The tape recorder greatly improves the recording quality by speeding up the tape passing the head, which is also pitch adjustable, but dont expect other standard speed recordings to play on this machine, they wont, unless you like the cartoon chipmunk type of music! Following the service i have tested each channel input and the recording individually, and all work and adjust as they should do. This can be fully demonstrated upon collection from Arnold, Nottingham (O7875749472) Alternatively, if collection in person is a complete impossibility, you can also enquire about a door to door personal delivery, by negotiation prior to any bidding or buying, or you could book your own collection with a courier, friend or colleague etc, so long as you accept the responsibility for its safety and insurance, ill package it up as best i can for transit.
