The headphones are Electrostatic in design, which offer superior results and reduced weight compared to other manufacturers who use different technology. Many reviews are available on Youtube. This listing is only for one of the models for the Stax energizer required, with only the power cable included. NO HEADPHONES ARE INCLUDED IN THIS LISTING. I will be listing headphones separately. All Stax headphones require a Stax energizer (or 100% compatible). This is a very dependable model and was the flagship model for many years. This model has inputs on the front for (2) sets of Pro Stax Headphones (5-pin), which are the higher end of their headphones. Stax headphones that are known as the Normal Stax headphones have 6-pin cables and will not work with the PP model. I have used this unit for several Stax models, including the SR-L700Mk2 and the SR-404 Professional. The volume control knob actually controls the volume for the left and right channels separately so that the user can adjust the levels to achieve the proper balance for the left and right headphones. With careful handling and proper usage, this unit should last for years. Note that this Stax SRM-1/Mk2 PP is a later model of the SRM-1/Mk2, with basically the same specifications and dimensions except that the SRM-1/Mk2 had inputs for (1) Pro set of headphones and (1) set of Normal headphones. I have consistently used Stax energizers and headphones using a standard stereo amplifier (or receiver) with turntables. The buyer should be familiar with the installation of the energizer but I will provide a diagram of how I have configured my system as a guide. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
