It holds constant speed and the automatic function is great.  The SL-1401 is a HEAVY turntable, not the plastic-based technics units that are still great but not like this beast...  Stanton 680EE Cartridge with D680 stylus and little brush. This cartridge has not been tested but is in very good physical condition. Nothing is bent or broken and the stylus tip looks just fine. It comes with the plastic brackets and screws to mount it.
