Up for auction is a Sony TC-K555ESG 3 head stereo cassette deck. The deck is fully serviced and the following repairs have been done: - Cleaned the heads and pinch rollers.- Replaced the belts, checked the speed, W&F 0.028% to 0.033%. - Adjusted the playback/record heads for correct height/azimuth.- Replaced the logic circuit capacitors using United chemicon caps.- Replaced the audio path capacitors using Nichicon muse non polar caps.- Added in parallel with the audio path capacitors 0.47uF Wima film capacitors (red caps in the pictures).- Increased the +/-16V power supply filter caps from 470uf to 1000uF and +/-10V from 1000uF to 2200uF using Nichicon FG audio caps- Upgraded the record amplifier NE5532 op-amp using the OPA2134 op-amp installed in gold plated socket.- Replaced the relay switch.- Replaced the broken HX PRO on/off switch. Because it is hard to find parts, I used one from a Nakamichi deck, but the function is opposite. in ON position is OFF and in OFF position is ON. There is a LED that shows the operation. - Adjusted the electronics for correct levels. All the functions are operating as they should be, playback, record, ff, rew, pause, counter, counter memory, music search, record calibration, headphones, dolby B/C/HX PRO, MPX, timer. The performance is more than excellent, the sound is warm, the bass is deep, the mid/highs crystal clear with wide stereo image in both modes (play/record). The deck is in very good condition, considering the age (see the pictures). This is a 100V model, S/N 210060. With the deck are included the old parts and a step down transformer from 120V to 100V. I provide 3 months warranty for the parts and labor (doesnt cover shipping expenses). All the questions are very welcome. I moved recently in US from Greece, where I was working in Greek Nakamichi service during 90s and I have all the professional equipment (original test tapes, oscilloscope, wow & flutter meter, distortion meter, frequency response meter, CR-7 test unit, 1000ZXL test unit).
