Pots are clean and smooth, buttons as they should be. I have a real soft spot for this superb vintage solid state Amplifier and matching tuner unit and will be sad to see them go. Really sleek slim line design that looks absolutely stunning in a modern setup. Sound is full, punchy and detailed. The tuner is brilliant too, one of the best Ive heard of this generation. The operation is a dream with its generously large, illuminated dial. It really looks the part, complimenting the Amp from which it draws its power, saving you a socket on your extension bar. A few scratches to the top casing on the amplifier (pictured) which is not visible with the tuner stacked on top. Only minor age related marks to the casing, fronts are immaculate for 40 years old! Sony TA-AX2 Stereo Integrated Amplifier in fabulous condition. Recently serviced by Godden & Curtis, Audio of Sherborne with everything working and sounding as it should including all its LEDs. Ideal for someone stepping into vinyl and turntables as the amp has a built in phono preamp. This amplifier was my first step into the Audiophile many years ago. It provides a warm and rich sound with a level of clarity which belies its age (and height!). Comes with the orginal instructions but not the original box.
