Es handelt sich trotzdem um das gewohnte Android Betriebssystem von Google mit all seinen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten sowie der Sony-eigenen Musik-App zum Abspielen der Titel sowie für die Einstellungen der Kopfhörer, die über 3,5mm-Klinke (das bietet heute fast nur noch Sony!) oder Bluetooth angeschlossenen werden. Auf dem Player ist die letzte / aktuellste Firmware von Sony (Version 4.06.00) bereits installiert / aktualisiert. Zum Überspielen der Songs vom PC auf den Player benötigt man die Sony Software Music Center for PC, die aktuellste Version (2.6.x) findet man auf der unten genannten Webseite von Sony zum Download. Ein nettes optisches Gimmick: man kann den Player so einstellen, dass er beim Abspielen eines Songs eine sich drehende Cassette simuliert, die sogar mit Song und Interpret beschriftet ist - sehr kultig sieht das aus. Die Anzeige schaltet sich nach ein paar Sekunden ab, damit das Display nicht unnötig Strom frisst. Erst wenn man wieder eine Taste betätigt, wird das Display wieder geweckt. Die Tonqualität des Players ist ausgezeichnet, ebenso schätze ich die griffigen Tasten am Rand des A105, die man nach einer kurzen Eingewöhnungszeit auch blind in der Jackentasche bedienen kann, da sie sinnvoll angeordnet sind, unterschiedlich groß sind und zudem teils kleine Hubbel aufweisen (ähnlich wie Blindenschrift), sodass man ganz gut spüren kann, welche Taste man gerade in der Jackentasche bedient. Außerdem kann man über einen kleinen Schiebeschalter die Tasten sperren, so dass ein versehentliches Herumdrücken auf den Tasten vermieden wird, wenns in der Hosentasche mal eng wird.
