Fully operational and great sounding Sony CDP-190 Single Tray CD Player. Solid operation. Front panel is very nice looking. Classy and Classic. The laser used in the fine player is still available, so you can look forward to many years of enjoyment. There are some black magic marker lines on the top of the unit where a previous owner did some touch up. I tried to capture these marks in photos. Please take a close look at the pictures and video. Might be a good candidate for a modification (TDA1543 seems to lend itself to mods and there is plenty of room inside for tinkering), but I would recommend just enjoying it as is until something is needed. Welcome to my listing for my Sony CDP-790 CD player. If you know, you know but this is a fantastic sounding unit, very dynamic and expansive sounding, with a deep soundstage and never harsh. The vivid presentation of sound that this Sony CD player produces is immediately apparent from the moment you press play. In terms of sound quality, this unit is up there with the revered Sony ES line of players. With the high end proprietary Sony CXD2552Q Bitstream DACs on board (which is the same DAC Sony uses in many of its high end players, including ES line models such as the CDP-X77ES and the CDP-X555ES), this player punches well above its weight in refinement. The transport is Sonys extremely stable KSS-240A which is also commonly found in a number of very high CD players. The headphone output is also of excellent quality and drives my Quad planar headphones with authority and ease. This CD player is solid as a rock and all functions work perfectly. It reads and navigates discs lightning quick and very quietly. The drawer is as smooth as butter in its operation. This is truly stunning sounding CD player. As you can see from the pictures, the CD player is in very good condition overall. There are a few marks on the top panel but the front fascia itself is immaculate. You wont be disappointed with the build quality or sound quality of this unit.
