Im selling my much-loved Sony 5.1 home theatre system due to a change of circumstances. Ideal for a small living room, bedroom or study. What Hi-Fi? said this is genuine surround sound for the speaker-phobic - give it a try, you might just be surprised. An Amazon reviewer in 2021 said that it is one of the best sound systems Sony has ever created. The Sony HT-IS100 was a game changer when it first appeared, all the critics/reviewers raved about the small golf-ball sized speakers and the brilliant depth of sound. Its perfect if you dont want your home theatre system dominating your room. Admittedly the 450W subwoofer is rather hefty, but the rest of the system is very compact. All my friends have been blown away when they experience the surround sound - they never notice the speakers as they are so tiny and discreet! Just google the system and you will find uniformly excellent reviews. This allows you to enjoy the rear speakers without running cables across/around your room. The wireless transmitter connects to the subwoofer so the amplifier can be placed wherever you want to put the rear speakers. You will also get an extra WAHT-SA10 module - I bought a spare for future-proofing when I heard it was going to be discontinued! However, it is still boxed as I have never needed it. Talking about the rear speakers, they are attached to a pair of elegant Sony WS-IS10F stands which were specifically designed for these speakers and are at perfect listening height. You can still buy the dedicated wall brackets on Ebay if you prefer to hang them. It cost £600 back in 2011 and was worth every penny, the immersive sound is amazing compared to TV speakers or a soundbar. With the added extras - 2 speaker stands, 2 wireless modules/transmitters and a DMP adapter - it cost over £900 in total. All in excellent condition, bar a few faint scuff marks here and there, from a smoke-free environment.
