In beautiful time capsule like cosmetic condition....speaker grills are undented and clean as is all the gleaming silver/grey work, no scratches to tuning display screen, no dinks or biffs, no cracks to rear or elsewhere, both aerials are true and straight...extremely hard to find this clean...Radio reception on all 4 bands is great...but alas nothing on tape ?!..Right !!..see picture 7...the top press button POWER on left....that indicates when not pressed in, i.e. up, that the tape function should work...well it does not and neither does the VU metre light..(it does when radio is in function mode, see pic 13)...and neither does the FF or Rewind....so not sure if this is an issue with the button and power while in the up cassette position or maybe rubber motor bands, idler rubber etc have worn/stretched ???...as already stated when button depressed...down...the radio plays superbly, all the APLD red lights illuminate when pushed..All the same I think youll be very hard pressed to get a GF 9494, a 40 odd year old machine lets remember, anything like as clean as this one....though the internal battery chamber does show some mild signs of battery leakage, nothing serious. Low starting price to ensure sale...Because I list to sell !! This is theSharp GF-9494. While it tends to have some rather plain styling it is still a very sought after box as most of the big Sharp boomboxes are. As you can see it has a single cassette deck and two large 18cm woofers. It puts out 12 watts.
