This is a great way to get the audio benefit of your HDCD CDs. You can hook up the digital output from your regular CD player and this DAC will play HDCDs to their fullest capability. I am the original owner of this DAC. It just came out of my system and has been used in my non-smoking home. I upgraded to a Berkeley Alpha DAC which has HDCD capability so I would like to see this DAC get a good home. When it was new in the late 90s it was absolutely state of the art. It even has dual power supplies - one each for the digital and analog sections with separate transformers and even separate power cords. It sounds excellent on regular CDs and HDCDs alike. Depending on your CD player it will likely be an upgrade to the sound. Cosmetically I would rate this a 9/10. I cant find any blemishes worth noting. It works perfectly; all the lights work and all the inputs are operational. The original owners manual, promotional brochure, and power cords are included. I will ship it in its original carton with original packing materials. I will charge actual freight.
