Here we have pre-amp plug in tape adaptor for line signal - Adjustable for CD, TVs and Mass Storage Devices with audio out etc. This will fit the Quad 22 pre-amp with a standard circuit in the tape adaptor socket. This is so you will be able to plug in a CD player, TV or set top box or similar with audio line out in the tape input sockets. Offering 100k OHM load with variable output 0-100%. This will enable you to be able to adjust the level/volume to the same as the Phono or Radio level, in addition also clamps high gain stage to ground to reduce hum. Quad 22 Stereo Valve System 22 Pre-Amp & 2 x II Power Amps In beautiful physical condition, here is an excellent example of the classic Quad 22 stereo valve system. Left unused for many years, we gently woke this up with our variac, ran it for around 30 minutes and it sounded really very nice indeed - just as it should. We don’t have a valve tester but because these are push-pull output, we also experimented by using just one of the KT66 valves fitted to each amp, checking all four valves in turn, they all appear good. All four KT66 valves are GEC, the four EF86 are Mullard, One of the rectifiers is Mullard, but although the other rectifier looks the same, there is no manufacturer’s name visible. Three of the pre-amp valves are Mullard, but one EF86 has no manufacturers name visible. The only reason this is offered here ‘For Parts or Not Working’ is this system is about 50 years old, it’s valve technology and has been left unused for a very long time. Although it worked very well when briefly tested by us, it is advisable that this is checked-over and serviced as necessary before further prolonged use. High voltages inside so any work should be carried out by a competent person. Please bear this in mind and bid accordingly. The pre-amp comes with its PU and Tape Adaptor pods and the system comes with Bulgin mains cable and user manual. So…….
