It was considered an excellent player when it came out, and is still prized by collectors for high quality sound and image, plus the fact it has connection options modern players dont (component, S-Video, etc), and really nice audio outputs that also make it an excellent CD player. It comes with the working remote and original instructions. I offer free shipping. Ill use whichever reliable service is the most reasonable - usually thats Fed-Ex home delivery. I will pack carefully. Im only shipping to the lower 48 states in the U.S. - the costs get crazy beyond that. Also, not P.O. boxes, since that rules out a lot of shipping choices. Now some important stuff: I did some basic testing and the player seems to work well, but please understand it has limitations due to when it was built (2008), not problems with this particular unit. First, this model was slow at loading (and everything) - even by 2008 standards. If you read the generally glowing old reviews and on-line comments youll see what Im talking about - speed was never its strong suit. Compared to modern players it feels kinda glacial. Second, the firmware is many years old, and Pioneer has been out of business for a long time, so there WILL be a good number of newer blu-rays it will not be able to play. Newer security coding on a disc will baffle it. (You may be able to find some somewhat newer firmware on line, but it wont be direct from Pioneer, may still be old, and who knows if it might cause problems with the player. Try it at your own risk). This is a model to get if you want a vintage player that has component and S-video outs, really nice DAC converters for CDs and a lot of other things new players dont have. Its for someone that understands the good and bad of a high quality 15 year old blu-ray player. Cosmetically there is some notable wear on the top surface, and moderate on the front (see pics). This listing is for the Pioneer BDP-51FD Blu-ray player. I tested it by playing a DVD and some Blu-rays through the HDMI output. It played the DVD and 3 Blu-rays I tested (minority report, darkest hour, and the dark knight), but for some reason it wouldnt play my copy of the banshees of inisherinIm not sure why it would play everything except that disc! It could be that this model of Blu-ray player cant play that specific type of disc that the banshees of inisherin is on, or the player is fussy about the HDMI cord you use for specific discs/formats. That being said, it is definitely a slower Blu-ray player than Im used to. It takes longer than Im accustomed to to power on and get to the movie, but it did load the discs and play the movie on the discs I tested (with the one exception I mentioned above). Cosmetically, its in decent shape aside from some scratches on the top which an example of is in the second picture. This listing only comes with the player and its power cord (no remote or HDMI cord). Let me know if you have any questions!
