Extremely nice and flawless classic Ortofon FF15XE MKII phono cartridge made in Denmark by people that know what they are doing. This one is multimeter tested at an almost matching 789/790 ohms per channel. I have installed a high quality 0.3x0.7 diamond elliptical stylus with flip down stylus guard and mounted and aligned it on a new quality Technics SL-1200 repro headshell. Designed to track between 1.7-2.3 grams. I tested it at 1.8 grams for 30 minutes and I was really taken back by its overall complete sonic ability. Everything shown in the photos is included except the headshell stand. The last photo shows the original yellow damaged stylus.The new stylus is in a foam padded case and once again sounds tremendous. I will include the damaged stylus to you for reference only. This is an Ortofon FF15E mk 2 cartridge, bought new by me in 1980. It is in excellent condition, having had less than 200 hours use. It has only ever been installed on a Thorens TD160S with the TP16 II arm, so has been well-cared for. I used it for four years before succumbing to a Rega Planar 3 (oh fie! o foolish youth). The Rega arrived with another cartridge pre-installed so I removed the FF15E and it has been unused ever since, apart from testing this week to make sure it works okay (it does, rather splendidly in fact). At the time, it was in Ortofon’s budget range. but iIt is worth remembering, however, that the £17.50 cost in 19809 translates to a £105 cartridge now, so probably the equivalent of the Ortofon 2M Red or similar. The FF15E has an elliptical stylus, although others were (and still are) available, including a rather nice looking nude conical. Like a number of vintage cartridges, the FF15E seems to be undergoing a resurgence in popularity at the moment, with a number of positive reviews on forums and blogs. New styli are available, either OEM or NOS Ortofon. This is your chance to enjoy the classic Ortofon sound from a cartridge in perfect condition. It comes with original box, presentation case, instructions and mounting bolts.

Fully serviced vintage Dual cs505 turntable with Ortofon ff15 cartridge. Overall this turntable is in very good condition for its age, with just a couple of cracks on the dust cover around the hinges, not really noticeable when in situ and they dont affect its operation. Some light scratches on the dust cover commensurate with its age but again not really noticeable in normal use. The turntable comes fitted with an Ortofon FF15 type 2 cartridge and a good 3rd party stylus that is an excellent match for the low mass arm. The motor and mechanical parts have been fully serviced, belts checked or replaced, and new capacitors fitted to the motor control board so it runs as silently now as it did when new. Overall, a great little turntable, excellent as a first deck for anyone getting into vinyl, just as it was back in the day. I am happy to post the item and will pack it carefully to protect it as much as possible, however I would be even happier if someone fancied a trip to mid wales to collect it in person. A nice Technics SL-23 turntable with working belt, motor and Ortofon FF15E MkII stylus. In good working order and has been enjoyed for over ten years by me. Have acquired a new unit so am selling this one. There are no faults that I am aware of.
