This unit has recently been refurbished by an audio store, and all functions work. It is solidly built and dates from 1975. This model is one of National Panasonics more deluxe radio cassette recorders from that year. As visible in the photographs, this unit is showing its age, with general surface wear and extensive scratches and marks on the body, but no major damage. There are also two small chips on the body, but no cracks. The antenna is slightly curved near the upper sections but it is intact and retracts well. Some dirt is present on the body, but its not excessive. The battery terminals show signs of previous corrosion damage, however, this is very common in radios of this vintage, as they come from a day when people only had access to carbon zinc technology batteries, which leaked with monotonous regularity. The course that the audio shop has taken is to remove corrosion on the contact face, and treat the entire contact with a product sourced from CAIG Laboratories USA that impregnates the contacts to ensure long term reliability. The unit has been tested with actual batteries installed to ensure 100% functionality. Can be used worldwide, as it has a mutli-voltage selector.
