Up for sale is my Nakamichi LX-3 Cassette Deck. This machine is from Naks golden era of 2 and 3 head cassette machines. This is the 2-head version of the LX-5 and replaced the 480 series with many more useful features, especially the recording up/down fader. The cosmetics mirrored the incredible 700ZXL/ZXE machine and it looks fantastic on a shelf. Now, this particular LX-3 is not a garage sale special or some abused unit thats been sitting in storage for years. This is my own personal unit that I bought brand new from Jerrys Audio in Phoenix, Arizona in the early 1980s. At that time I also had several other Naks (680ZX, ZX-7) so this particular machine didnt get much use. As you can see from the photos its been very well taken care of and always stored in a box inside my home, not in a garage or storage facility. I would rate the front of the unit almost mint as you can see from the photos. The top has no scratches on it that I can see and the sides have just a few small scratches. The back of the machine looks fantastic, just like the front. Also check out all the detailed photos of the front - all the corners are sharp and not dented, all the lettering is intact, the tabs on the cassette well door are intact and not broken and the well door light works as shown. The power button still feels new as does the eject button which functions smoothly and without issue. Importantly also, the hinge for the front panel door works perfectly, doesnt stick and has no broken parts. All the knobs and buttons behind the door look new as shown. All the red LED lights work as the various photos of the front panel show, however, I cant verify all the meter LED segments work as the unit will not play a tape. I do remember them working about 5 years ago the last time I checked. Also, both the Dolby B and C lights work. Youll see that the heads, capstans and pinch rollers are all clean and dont look abused and dirty. This LX-3 even smells new when powered on! The issue is I had planned on keeping this machine forever and sending it to someone for belts and adjustment but since so much time has gone by I have never gotten to it. Im more focused on my reel to reel machines these days as well. So, it wouldnt take much to get this machine up to spec and when was the last time you saw an LX-3 for sale in this kind of cosmetic condition from the original owner? I would love to see this Nakamichi go to the next owner who will cherish it as much as I have. Finally, this LX-3 has been stored in a non-smoking, child free, pet free and cologne and perfume free home and is guaranteed to be free of any greasy fingerprints, strange odors or any other funk! It does NOT come with any manual, original box or any original accessories - just the deck itself! Excellent Condition Nakamichi LX-3 Cassette deck. Arguably the best two head deck ever made (see last photo) and as good as or better than many 3 head, non Nak decks! Everything works as it should. Would have called it near mint if not for a some minor blemishes on top (see photos). Regardless, a beautiful deck with very “low miles.” Heads are pristine. I purchased this from original owner a few months ago. It was an impulse buy, as some of my purchases are. Looks and works superb! I ship USA Lower 48 only. Will be ground for sure. Im the original owner of this Nakamichi LX-3 cassette player. It has been siting in my entertainment system and I finally decided to part with it since I dont have any more Cassettes. It looks like new on the outside but It is not tested(no cassettes). It will probably need new bands inside since it has been sitting with no use. It also comes with the Nakamichi RM-200 Remote and the Nakamichi DM-10 Head Demagnetizer.

NAKAMICHI LX-3 CASSETTE DECK Acquired from an elderly enthusiast who was clearing out the huge collection of equipment that he had built up over a lifetime. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS FOR OTHER HI END HI FI. As with any vintage equipment, unless you are a suitably qualified and experienced person yourself, then its wise to have it checked over by someone who is, prior to use. Whilst I am a qualified electrician and have over 40 years experience with hi end hi fi, Im not an electronics engineer and I dont have sufficient experience of these machines to carry out servicing, which is why I have listed as, for parts or not working. Condition Cosmetically as per pictures. Powers up and displays etc seem fine. Belts look fine. Basic controls briefly tested and appear to be operating as they should. Not tested with a cassette and a knocking noise on wind/rewind and play which I havent investigated but I doubt is much. I doubt this will take a lot to get it running as it should but it is sold as for parts or not working so no guarantee of functionality. Ive described it as accurately as I can.

Biete dieses Cassettendeck von Nakamichi Typ LX-3.Gebaut wurde dieses Tapedeck von 1982 bis 1984.Vor/Rücklauf, Play, Stop funktioniert, die Aufnahmen lassen sich gut auspegeln.Beim Vor/Rückspulen ist das Tape relativ laut, der Antriebsriemen müßte erneuert werden. Die Tonköpfe brauchen eine Reinigung.Der optische Zustand ist gut, siehe Fotos. Mit dabei ist eine Gebrauchsanweisung und 2 Chinchkabel für den Anschluß an einen Verstärker und ein neues dreiteiliges Antriebsriemen-Set von Thakker.Das Gerät wurde 1995 auf TDK SAX-Cassetten eingestellt (Beleg liegt bei). Das Gerät ist interessant für einen versierten Bastler oder Sammler, der sich zu helfen weiß.Maße ca: 45 cm x 31 cm x 14 cm. Gewicht ca: 8,5 KG
