Here now we have an example of this very machine which is in very good condition, albeit with a couple of very small blemishes on the right hand side of the DAC please see photographs. It comes packaged in its original boxes, with remote control and interconnect cables for the two units. Plus of course you will also get our standard 3 month warranty. Musical Fidelity Say…. The kW DM25 Transport uses the latest technology for the reproduction of your CD collection. In the kW DM25 Transport the digital data stream is separated into left & right mono signals and then up-sampled to 96kHz, In the kW DM25 DAC the signals are further up-sampled to 192kHz which moves noise, jitter and distortion artefacts well above the audio band. They are then passed through to left and right, low noise, low distortion 24-bit digital-to-analogue converters operating at 192kHz, which allows simpler filtering of the analogue output. This in turn gives an improved audio response without the need for sharp filters that degrade sound quality. The result is a CD player which gives a smoother response than previously possible with none of the “hardness” of other players. The kW prefix is synonymous with the best performance available. The kW 25 (25th Anniversary) system is no exception. We passionately believe that standard CD has a huge amount of life left in it – but nobody has really exploited it, until now. The kW DM25 CD system is our state-of-the art system, which extracts every last drop of information from the disc. It is a revelation. The advantages of standard CDs are that there are more than three million titles readily available at reasonable prices, everybody has a substantial collection, and there is still lots more information to be extracted from them, if only the equipment is up to it. Contrast this with the world of DVD-A: and SACD, where there are very few titles, hardly any new recordings, lack of general availability, unreliability of the format and very high price. Although we have made the best SACD players on the market, our first duty is to the music. We want as many people as possible to enjoy a wide range of music at a fair price. Answer? The kW DM25 super CD system. The kW DM25 system is divided into a transport and DAC. Until now, Musical Fidelity has refused to make a CD ‘transport.’ This is because virtually all (99.99%) of ‘CD transports’ turn out to be nothing but a complete CD player with no DAC and … erm … that’s it. They always cost more than the donor CD player, for less hardware. This is not the type of product that Musical Fidelity wants to be associated with. Our new kW DM25 transport is not like anything else ever made. First off, it has proper, turntable style isolation (taken from the M1), which ensures that there is no acoustic feedback of any description. It has adjustable ride height and levelling. Internally, the kW DM25 transport is extraordinary. Normally, a CD mechanism has one common power supply for the servo, motor and digital electronics. That’s okay if ordinary is good enough. The kW DM25 is all about the extraordinary. The motor has a completely separate, choke-regulated power supply. There is another, completely separate, choke-regulated power supply for the servo system. And yet another supply for the digital electronics. Each part of the primary source of signal information is operating at its optimum with absolutely no interaction or interference from any other part. This is unique. The digital signal processing is of the highest quality, but standard S/PDIF 44.1kHz single coax output was not good enough for us. We have opted for the AES/ EBU digital balanced format, but even that wasn’t enough for us. We’ve really gone for broke. Left and right have their own, separate, digital balanced output each. And even that is not enough. Rather than the usual 44.1k, these separate, digital balanced outputs are operating at 96kHz. A completely unique first. Taken as a whole, the kW 25 transport is the ultimate digital information retrieval machine. Acoustic feedback has been eliminated. The actual guts of the CD player are able to operate with a freedom and clarity never before achieved. The digital electronics are state-of-the-art with a unique output configuration. This is one amazing piece of kit. The kW DM25 DAC is based on the DAC inside the kW SACD. It is the best DAC in the world. We have managed to make a few subtle improvements to its performance. The kW DM25 DAC’s system is double dual-differential, super performance, low noise, 24-bit, 192 kHz upsampling DAC. It offers about the best technical performance of any DAC in the world, regardless of price. The noise ratio is an incredible 123dB, jitter is almost non-existent and distortion is less than 0.001% across the band. Frequency response is virtually perfect. This level of technical performance means that the effective dynamic range is huge. Not only does it get very loud, but also, because of its extremely low noise, you can hear right into every nook and cranny of the recording. It is wonderful to hear. The kW DM25 DAC has two, ultra-low-impedance output stages. The first is a Class A transistor system and the second is a tube output circuit. They run simultaneously, so that you can connect them both to your inputs and switch between them, on your amp, to decide which suits a particular recording better. I also a pair of Bower Wilkins 800 signature in tigers eye veneer up for grabs which are a perfect match for these amps also rated at 1000 watts each (not that youll ever need that much power) these amps are truly amazing and are the creme dela creme of musical fidelity. Only 75 pairs of these were ever made so grab yourself an absolute audio masterpiece. Reviews online rated these 1 of, if not the best amplifiers ever made. Its a SACD player but the lens that reads SACDs is too weak to read the pertinent details off a SACD discs so it is reading any SACD discs as a red book CD discs (which is why we listed it as a CD player in the main title and not a SACD player). If your collection are largely CDs, then no problem. The problem is a very common one with all SACD players and usually just requires a new lens replacement. The KW player is a very sturdily made player. Big and heavy (44 lbs), it has a unique feature of offering two different outputs via its two pairs of RCA outputs - solid state output or tube output. So you can switch between them to see which one sounds better in your system or which one you prefer. There are two digital outputs too if you want to use this as a transport. Due to its non-reading of SACD TOC (if there are any other issues, we are not aware of it), we are listing this as a NO RESERVE, AS-IS auction with NO RETURNS. What adds to this feeling is of course the fact that the KW750 is a two box design where the smaller – but heavier – box houses the power supply! Capable of providing huge amounts of power and able to control just about any loudspeaker you connect them to, these brutes come in good fully working condition with a few small blemishes – please see photographs. They will be suitably packaged (UK only and on a pallet) coming with all required mains cabling and our standard 3 month warranty. Musical Fidelity Say…. The kW 750 power amp delivers more than 750 WPC and about a 200 amp peak. It is an utter monster of an amplifier. It does everything that the original kW monsters did, but has about 1 dB less headroom. Please remember that it was actually impossible to limit or clip the original kW amplifiers ever, even into Apogee Scintillas. The kW 750 is a delight to listen to. It sounds just like a small, nimble, agile, sweet, single ended triode amplifier except that it has no power limitations whatever. Plug this friendly monster into any loudspeaker and the results are breathtaking. Huge wide images. Pinpoint stereo location. Massive bandwidth. Sweet neutral sound. But above all, never, never any limits to the dynamic range. What you hear is limited only by the dynamic range of the recording and power handling of the loudspeaker. The kW 750 is easily the best amplifier in the world. But perhaps were not charging enough to show that we believe its the best amplifier in the world. Audiophiles appear to reason that if something is the best in the world, it must cost the most in the world. As you know, that is completely against our philosophy. We believe in giving maximum value-for-money and to hell with the competition. At £5,999 the kW 750 is, to us, a huge amount of money, but in terms of high end pricing, it is ludicrously cheap. We expect that most serious audiophiles will refuse to look at the kW 750 because it is just not expensive enough. We trust and believe that all our fellow music-lovers are more intelligent, and will judge by what the product is, rather than how much it costs. This amplifier makes me go weak at the knees. Musical Fidelity KW500. This is an incredible amplifier and is only being sold due to an upgrade. 2 amplifier channels via 2 pairs per channel. Musical Fidelity Kw750. For your consideration is the monster Kw750. This amplifier is capable or powering most all loudspeakers and sounds truly fantastic. Included are the stock Umbilicals, 1m. I will include a generic 20 amp power cable and a printed copy of the manual. Condition, amplifiers are relatively clean. There are a few marks on the top. The faceplate of the amp has two dots and the power supply has a wear on the top edge. The feet sometimes do not change back to blue after the amplifier is cut off and back on. The feet are on a timer and this has no bearing on performance. They generally glow orange. Sonically the unit sounds excellent! Der Player ist in einem sehr guten optischen Zustand mit nur geringsten Gebrauchsspuren. Er liest alle SACD‘s und CD‘s ein, dass aber bei solchen Geräten einen Moment dauert, wie auch in der Beschreibung zu lesen ist. Einziges Mango: Bei einigen CD‘s gibt es manchmal einen Aussetzer. Ich lege aber dem Player einen neuen Laser bei, komme leider nicht dazu den einbauen zu lassen. Damit sollte das Problem beseitigt sein.
