A quantity of two GZ32 full wave rectifiers manufactured by Mullard. Slightly scratched print. These valves were tested sometime in the past on a two panel AVO meter and current recorded as 52/50mA for the first valve and 52/52mA for the second valve, the AVO manual recommends a figure of 50mA for testing current in each diode section for a good valve. The GZ34 is an upgrade to the GZ32 and both are rated at 125 mA rectified current. The GZ33 however, as a high current version and is rated at 250 mA rectified current, and unlike its lower rated counterparts is not given a maximum reservoir current rating, but 200 µF would seem a maximum value that would be used in practice. As such, the 200 µF filtering capacitor will guarantee minimum hum. Anode 1 / 2 – 72/72 where a nominal spec is 70 and the minimum good is 40. The tube has very clean glass bottle, brown micanol base consistent with military specs, charcoal anodes, part of the print is almost gone, removing the tube from its box could easily be responsible. No sign of usage at all. There are neither shorts nor gas; the tube comes in a bulk wrapping. When considering vintage tubes the potential buyer must realize that these items are very delicate electromechanical devices often being over 50 to 70 years old, so no guaranty of any kind can be offered, as such, I sell them as they are. Finally, I am certain that your tube tester readings will differ from mine. Mullard GZ32 NOS Vacuum Tube For sale I have a single new in original box, 1959 production Mullard made Valvo branded GZ32 vacuum tube. Tube came wrapped in brown paper and think cardboard that has never been touched since this tube left the factory. Among the cleanest tubes I have seen and without question NOS. Tube carefully tested for emissions (rectifier), shorts, gas, life and leakage. Magic marker writing on the glass which can be easily removed. No tube is sold that has any gas, leakage or fails life and strength tests. Photo is of the actual tubes on auction. The Triplett 3444 is one of the finest testers ever made. Exceptional in every aspect. Superb with directly heated triodes. The Hickok KS 15874-L2 is a commercial version of the wonderful 118 Cardmatic. In my opinion, and the opinion of many tester experts, this is the best tester that was made by Hickok. A real gem. The Maxi-Matcher is a useful tester for measuring current draw and transconductance at 325/400 plate volts with 5 bias voltage settings. Very good with 6V6s and EL84s, this tester falls a bit short of true operating levels on 6550s, EL34s, 5881s and 7027s. Still much better than most suitcase testers for measuring power pentodes. I do not trust the minimums on this tester and they are therefore not listed. The industry standard by default.
