If Power Guard is activated, the 2 vacuum tubes connected to the affected audio channel(s) will flash an amber color; they will return to their normal green color when the clipping has stopped. When amplifier is on, the cover has to be removed and can be placed back as soon as its turned off . The cooling process is granted by the construction of the cover . It has two openings . Up for sale is a beautiful McIntosh MA5200 integrated amplifier. This unit was only used for a few months when in the middle of a firmware update the power went out in the owners house. He could not get the unit to work after that and it sat in his home used. He finally took it to an authorized factory repair center (Fort Worth Audio Service) and was told the unit would need a new control board. Unfortunately at the time we were in the middle of covid and supply chain problems and McIntosh was unable to supply the part for over a year. I bought the unit from the original owner as is and patiently waited for McIntosh to be able to supply the part. The factory authorized service center installed the control board, loaded the lastest firmware into the amp, and tested all aspects for functionality. The unit is now working perfectly and sounds as good as it looks! This is a great amp which is very versatile. It sports a great DAC and has inputs for everything you could imagine, including a phono input for you vinyl fans. Sale includes the amp, original remote control and a copy of the Owners Manual.
