McIntosh MAC1500 Receiver (Tube Turner & Tube Amp) in Very Good Condition with Wood CabinetI am a retiree of 78 - an audio electronics hobbyist and a HiFi fen since high school.I refurbish audio equipment from my own collections and others as time killing projects.As I do not do it for living, I usually price equipment lower than the market value - to sell to new owners who enjoy and take care of vintage equipment.This time up for sale is a McIntosh MAC1500 Receiver with wood cabinet in very good condition.MAC1500 is the first receiver produced by McIntosh in 1965.It is a fairly rare piece of equipment as only around 2600 units were made for domestic U.S. use only.The FM tuner is tube and is similar to the MR67 tube tuner,The integrated amplifier section is similar to the MA2300 hydric amplifier with a solid states preamp and a 30Wx2 7591 tube power amp.It is also known for having one of the better headphone sections of any receiver because it has a special secondary transformer winding specifically for the headphone output as opposed to the usual resistor placed in the speaker output circuit.It uses the following tubes:• 4-7591 output,• 2-6DS4,• 3-6AU6,• 6SC6, 6EA8,• 3-12AU7,• 12AX7.The power supply section of this unit has been updated and re-capped which is a “must” for a vintage receiver of this age.The FM turner pulls in stereo stations with a simple T antenna.The 7591 tubes are biased to 0.675v – leaving 0.025v as the safety buffer.All inputs, outputs and selectors are functioning as they should.All penal lights and function indicators work.The front panel and the dial glass are in very good condition and all letters are intact.It looks very good with the wood cabinet.It has been tested and sounded beautiful.Will pack professionally (see pictures).Local pick-up - Glendale, CA 91203 and cash preferred.Will accept PayPal friends and family.The package weights 55lb and shipping to lower 48 states if required.Shipping is $105 including insurance.International shipping is by e-Bay Global Shipping Program.Cities/countries not covered by the GSP will be by USPS International Priority.International buyers, please ask for a quote before paying.Photos are taken on the actual items and what you see are what you get.It is sold as is - no return, no refund and no exchange.Please study the photos carefully and ask any question.
