The build quality of these speakers seems to be better with superior bracing on the inside and a cross over that uses polyester film caps than the second generation HPM-60's. The second gen used electrolytic capacitors. Tested all drivers in good working condition Woofers have been rebuilt then re-foamed and tested with excellent deep bass sound.

Some of the nicest HPM-60s Ive seen in 20 years. Cabinets, grille covers, tone controls, and all the drivers are tested and good. Sound is very nice like it should be. I did find some static in one tweeter control. Dont think these had been moved in 50 years, or at least there was caked dust on the horizontal grille bars and the terminal cup to suggest that. These came from a smoke-friendly home not to be confused with a smoke-free home. Dry brushed the face, rear, and grilles and used the air compressor to detail them. Cabinets are good. These are not mint but they are about as close as youll find.$60 to ship both speakers in the lower 48 US. They will be packed individually.Thanks for bidding!

This cast basket mid/bass driver with carbon-fiber blend cone was also used in the HPM-60. It bears what appears to be a 1979 build code on the basket’s rear. I have no doubt they are interchangeable since I’ve found an A-suffix and a B-suffix super tweeter in a pair of HPM-40 speakers several times.
