Cleaned ribbon cable connectors to main pcb. Tested to full rail output to the point of clipping to verify balance regulation. Sine wave, square wave, 20Hz to 40KHz all look balanced and clean now. Going to repeat the listening test soon to verify balance on music.On Jul-14-23 at 16:17:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Music is balanced and sounds great. So the update from 2 days ago no longer applies and it just needed the cleaning I did today. Balance, tone control, mono switch are working great.

This listing is for a Vintage Hafler DH-110 Stereo preamp. I am selling this AS IS for Parts repair because it needs some attention. I tested all of the inputs and they all work and sound good to my ears. I noticed when activating the tone controls by pressing the tone button that there is an intermittent noise in the right channel. Due to the age I would recommend having it checked out by a qualified technician. Please look closely at the photos. What you see is what you will receive.Sold AS IS. No Returns accepted. This DH-110A factory assembled unit (s/n 8208872) was bought new by the seller in the early 1980s, is cosmetically very good, and was fully functional when removed from the audio system in 2020 (then stored in a heated room in the shipping box). In 2019, knobs and push-buttons were professionally cleaned and de-oxidized to silence scratchiness, several capacitors were replaced and all RCA connectors were upgraded. The unit will ship in the original box with manual. Audio hobbyist groups on the internet note that this model of vintage electronics has a high incidence of scratchy sounding controls. The specific unit for sale here has quiet controls now after the 2019 servicing but scratchiness is likely to recur. Given its age, the unit is being sold “As-Is” so please ask questions before purchasing. The seller recently listened on the “Tuner” and “AUX” inputs with clear sound on both speakers and headphones and no apparent problems. All lights illuminate. Notably, the DH-110 includes two switchable phono inputs to allow a-b comparison of cartridges. A highly favorable 1982 review of the DH-110 by Julian Hirsch of Stereo Review magazine can be found online. Made in USA.
