I’m sadly parting with my two wonderful Golden Tube Audio SE-40 amps which were converted into monoblocks about 23 years ago. I have not used them for more than two years and we are in the process of downsizing. Each SE-40 monoblock was operating with gusto during last use. These had been powering inefficient Magneplanars — and later Dahlquist DQ10s. I don’t have the means to test them now. The cosmetics are very good. Four tiny screws are missing on the chassis of each amp. I never bothered to replace them. I’m including the two original padded, shipping boxes. No tubes are included. Thus, I’m selling these SE-40s as is for $1,600 and would recommend a buyer who knows the tuning and maintenance of these awesome amps. There is an excellent users group headed by admin Jim Adams. This group can be found with a basic search. The users in the group are rich with advice and resources. The amps are sold as-is because of the nature of vintage electronics. Seems to be very hard to find any info on it was a Japanese company that partnered with sylvania but this has no sylvania markings. Also says made in USA by the Golden Shield Corporation.
