Relisted after total and utter time wasting clown Xu Jack won the auction - clearly listed as ‘collection only” in the title and the description - for these last week and wanted them shipping to China. So again…… Dynaudio Contour 1.3 Mk2. I’ve used these as my go-to speakers for reviewing equipment over the years and the cabinets are marked up here and there, but a sand/oil would have them looking nice and sharp in no time. I’d do it myself but am busy having a clear out, and I’d then have to start the bidding at double the current price. They sound great for a small speaker and I’ve enjoyed them in a £30K system while waiting for my £40K floor standers to arrive. If the price gets above £280 I’ll include the Atacamba SE24 (I think) stands, otherwise I’ll list those separately. The woofers have also been re-modeled to include one piece moulded MSP cones and state of the art, five-duct coil cooling systems. In keeping with our Green philosophy, we have insisted on using environmentally friendly damping materials, combining these with acoustic stabilizing material for enhanced audio performance. As a final touch, the re-designed Contour 1.3 MKII also features an improved multi-layer cabinet construction thanks to internal bracing which ensures maximum strength and rigidity.

Up for sale is a pair of Dynaudio D280 tweeters in good working condition. Both hemispheres are in perfect shape w/o any dents. However, some dusts are attached on them. Please carefully check the photos for their conditions. They were pulled from a working pair of Audience 52SEs. I guess they were produced around 2004 or later. Also, their ferro-fluid was replaced in Dec. 2021 (Ferro Tec). The tweeters were sounding nicely to my ears, however, I do not have any instruments to examine the performances. Therefore, I cannot guarantee that they can sound perfectly. Please bid on them only if you understand this. If you have further questions, please ask me. No claim and no return please. No. The Contour 20 standmounter takes everything we know about speaker technology – we’re Danes; we know a lot – and puts it in a compact, clean and great-sounding package. Its sweet-toned Esotar2 soft-dome tweeter has been a legend in its own right for years. It’s commonly regarded as one of the world’s best-ever drivers – and because it’s been such a great friend to so many millions of ears (and a key part of Contours past), we just had to give it another outing. Improved heft The extended-excursion 18cm woofer, though, is an original design It’s powered by a lightweight aluminium voice-coil and a vented dual-ferrite magnet system, and was created by driver specialists Danny Pasfall Christensen and Andreas Eberhardt Sørensen and their team under acoustic maestro Daniel Emonts. (They can hear the differences between different types of glue. We like those guys.) It’s made from MSP – a material we developed ourselves, and have been using in our drivers since 1985. MSP gives exactly the right combination of stiffness and damping – which you’ll hear as exactly the right combination of power, finesse and control. Just what a Contour speaker should have. But we’ve taken it further: we’ve varied the diaphragm’s thickness across its surface, which gives even greater control over its sound.

Used, very good working order but there are a few cosmetic marks and scratches, especially around edges. Grille cloths have some small tears. Tweeters are slightly deformed but it does not affect performance in any way

The new Esotar 2i tweeter is a turbocharged version of the much-loved Esotar2. It now features a larger rear chamber for more effective damping, and the inventive Hexis inner dome seen on Confidence, Core and more. Together they flatten the frequency response and reduce unwanted resonances for even clearer, smoother treble.The woofer has been tweaked, too. It’s still made of our own Magnesium Silicate Polymer (MSP) material, of course, it’s still powered by a lightweight aluminium voice-coil, and it still uses a vented dual-ferrite magnet system – but behind the distinctive black cone lurks a brand-new spider suspension. This one is made from aramid fibres, and retains the ingenious structural properties from before (the ribs are of varying width to give even finer control over the cone’s excursion).
