You are looking at a genuine Dual CS505-3 Audiophile Concept turntable. This is an unfinished project, ideal for someone to pick up and finish. As someone who deals in used hifi, I have 1 too many projects on the go as we head into winter, so this one sadly needs to go to someone else to complete. Where it is at so far: - 1. Main platter belt replaced 2. Pitch belt replaced for the twin belts 3. Plugged in, spins up, pitch adjusts Good bits: - 1. Dust cover is in tact, no cracks, hinges complete and function 2. All leads are undamaged 3. Arm, head, lifter etc all in nice condition 4. Mat is undamaged, no disintegrating etc Bad bits: - 1. No cartridge so I havent tested output 2. The speed control needs some attention - sometimes it changes, sometimes it doesnt. Switching mechanics need some adjustment or greasing. 3. Some baked on residue of previous sticky stuff on the back of the unit and on edges of the lid. Some isopropyl soaking should remove. 4. Some minor separation at the wood casing joints, see photos. Overall a nice turntable that needs some love and time to tinker and finish. Replace the cartridge, fix the speed mech and give it a good clean. DUAL CS-505-2 VINTAGE CLASSIC TURNTABLE In superb cosmetic condition, all working and sounding great. Complete with original Dual Ortofon cartridge. Original lid, in lovely condition, but note it is missing the hinges from the deck. Description Floor vibration and acoustic feedback are frequent external sources of interference. Vibrations can be transmitted to the record player with each step, and sound energy from the loudspeakers can be fed back acoustically to the record player through the air or through a piece of furniture. To minimise these unwanted effects, the Dual CS 505 uses a floating chassis. In the Dual 505, a great deal of technical expertise has been applied to acoustically decouple the entire turntable drive unit from the remainder of the casing. As a result, external interference is filtered out so effectively that it no longer has any audible effect on the music. The anti-resonance mat used on the CS 505 filters and counteracts resonances which can be transmitted through the record player to the record.
