It is a unique design when it come to amplifier. Usually hybrid amplifier has solid state front end and tube power section but the Counterpoint SA-220 is revert with tube drivers and solid state power section. It is in great working condition. The amplifier will take about 2 minutes to warm up (when first turn on the LED light will stay red then turn green when the amplifier is ready to be used). Sonically backgound sounds gets totally black, while the high’s sparks with lively tone. It brings that being there feeling to music that otherwise sounded recorded to my ear. This conditioner is fine addition to any system and at the offered price you can't get close to anything better unless you spend in excess of $600 or $700 dollars. The Counterpoint SA11 is not only the most beautiful sounding line section extant, but is also the most accurate and the most musically truthful - Peter Moncrieff, International Audio Review Cosmetic condition:The face plate and all lettering is in near perfect condition. As shown in the photos, only very light scuffs on the top surface that can probably lightly cleaned to near new condition. All knobs are straight and rotate smoothly. All toggle switches click evenly and solidly into place. Under 4X magnification the RCA connections on the back show no scratching or wear. Side panels are clean and near new condition. Rear is pristine with none of the inputs or outputs showing any signs of being bumped or bent. We cannot find any significant wear, grime or marks to the outside. Overall we can honestly rate it a solid 9+ out of 10. Functionality:If you are considering this control amplifier you know of its famed capabilities. Our testing has been limited to powering it up. We are not qualified to go through the many tests it deserves and like any very fine piece of art or equipment we are not going to take a chance of damaging something that doesnt have any issues to begin (which is our guess here), all appears to be working without issues. When powered on it took about 15 seconds for it to become ready and ALL of the lights came on. With that said if you have ANY concerns we are willing to take this SA-11 to your choice of a Dallas area professional and (at your expense) have them review this SA-11 before you buy it. We are confident it will test fine but need some basic adjustments. In our professional opinion this SA-11 has seen very low use. A Counterpoint SA-1000 valve hybrid pre amplifier in good working condition.The case and fascia have a few marks but nothing serious.All functions and connections work as they should except for the mute button which has been bypassed.This is a performance mod as the signal ran through the toggle.The amp has five inputs including an MM and MC phonostage.Loading can be changed on the main board.All the valves have plenty of life left, two 12AX7 and one 6DJ8.The amp has been converted to UK voltage using the jumpers on the main board.
