Bose SoundDock | Series 1 | iPod iPhone Docking Station Speaker | Black. As pictured. We have been using this for a few months, and then were given another hence this is surplus to requirements. Dock only - no power lead included. Ipod obviously not included - shown on the video to demonstrate it works fine. It works fine with an ipod (as you can see on the video), but weve notice the connector for the ipod (the bit you put the ipod on top of) is a bit loose and perhaps has a bad contact in some positions. If you put the ipod in there as normal it either doesnt play or is a bit crackly. We have found if you put the enclosed battery (could be any item but this seems to be the perfect size for the job!) behind the ipod when its on the dock, it pushes the connector forward and works perfectly, without any sound issues at all. See the video of it working. As mentioned we have used it for several months like this without an issue (sometimes for hours at a time), so are confident it will be fine if you use it with the spacer/battery. Compatible with older Apple devices with 30pin connectors. In our case this meant a 30gb 5th gen ipod. Will also work with newer Apple devices using a 30pin to lightning adaptor. Low start price reflects the issue here. Perfect if your old Bose has developed a fault and you want a cheap replacement.
