On the little research I did I think it has to do with the tracking or the needle on the cassette. I looked and the needle looks sharp but once again I am not an expert. This could be a very simple fix for all I know but I am selling it for parts due to not being able to make it work properly in the time I had to spend on it.If it is a simple fix I hope you either use it or sell it and get enjoyment from it one way or the other. This Vintage Bang&Olufsen BeoGram RX-2 Record Player/Turntable #5833 with MMC-5 pickup dates to the mid-1980s and went into storage in a smoke and pet free home about 25 years ago. It has been tested by the owner (not “bench tested”) using a 33 1/3 RPM record and performed quite well. Overall, this item has a very good appearance for its age, and there are very few scratches or smudges, no hazing on the Plexiglas cover, and no other signs of usage, but there may be some slightly dusty crevices resulting from the years of storage. The original Owner’s Guide, Cleaning Brush, Limited Warranty paperwork, and Safety Instructions are included in the sale. The unit was made in Denmark. (Please see all photos.) The Record Player/Turntable measures about 17 inches wide, about 13 inches deep, about 3.25 inches high, and weighs about 13 pounds. With a very sturdy carton measuring about 24” x 15” x 4” and weighing about 1 pound 11.5 ounces (and with appropriate packaging) the shipping weight would be between 15 and 16 pounds. There are some scuff marks on the dust cover. The turntable is otherwise in great condition. Bang & Olufsen cartridge MMC3 has a bent needle but is still usable.

Ive owned both turntables for about 15 years. Have not used either one in about 4-5 years. The TX2 was sent for service and the needle was purchased new (refurbished) at the time. Im sure they both need a new belt and adjustments, so please consider that when buying, they will require some TLC.Cartridges included are MMC5; MMC4; SMMC4 (I think that is the refurbished one).I have a new baby at home and need to clear space.I cant find the checkbox for free shipping for some reason, but shipping in the US is included.Thank you!

There are no chips, dings, stains or big scratches. Just some superficial swirling on the plexi which is hardly noticeable. Yes there are less expensive ones but we think this is cosmetically one of the best used ones. We do not have the OG box but will bubble pack it and isolate the tonearm so it doesn't move. Just the turntable for sale and no cartridge.

Tested and works great! Has the more desirable mmc-5 cartridge. There are no major blemishes on the unit, some light scratches to be expected as this is a vintage unit. The cover/lid is free of chips, cracks, broken hinges etc. A really nice unit overall.

The only test I could do is plug it in and hit cue button and would spin for 10 seconds, and then shut off. Check pictures for cosmetic condition.
