Up for sale is a well-known high-end UK company Arcam delta CD player model 70.2. Came from an estate sale. Well kept. Approximately 12 pounds in weight.

Made in England and is considered to be some of the best hi-fi components. Cosmetics are excellent with no scratches.Near prisitne condition. Front panel is clean with all lettering at 100% intact. LED display is normal and fully functional. Features digital coaxial output and can be used as a transport.

Extremely well made and moderately heavy. Laser lens was cleaned using photographic lens paper. A brief inrenal inspection revealed a clean chassis with zero dust. Tray belt was cleaned with 100% pure isopropyl alcohol from Techspray. Belt is still elastic and firm with no rubber decay. CD tray is smooth open/closing.

Comes with detachable power cord, original owners manual and original remote control. Comes with 2 screws for stabilizing tray platform for shipping.

Continuing my clearout of hifi sruff, this one is a superb Arcam Delta 270 cd player in excellent condition and full working order. This is now a very sought after player and was one of Arcams finest creations, utilizing the Philips CDM-9 laser assembly. It is now a very rare item and even rarer to find one in this condition. I must point out that all serial numbers have been photographed & logged and security marking have also been applied, this is in order to stop any tampering with components. I dont have the original box but it will be very well packaged for transport by Parcelforce48. You will receive the Delta 270, mains lead and generic remote control only, nothing else is included. The Arcam Delta 170 is one of the first examples of an entirely new product category: CD transports. The concept of different CD transports having different sonic qualities is vexing. It is a simple matter to prove that the bit stream contains identical data from virtually any CD transport (see Industry Update, Vol.12 No.8). According to Arcam, development of the Delta 170 was spurred by audible differences among transports heard by dealers, customers, and Arcam staff. The possibility that CD transports have their own sonic signatures is intriguing.On the other hand, outboard D/A converters clearly make sense. CD-player (and DAT) owners can enjoy the improvements offered by the latest technology just by replacing (or upgrading) their D/A converters, provided their players have digital outputs. Digital output ports are becoming increasingly common: in early 1987, just 12 players had digital out, the number rising to 50 by early 1988. Today, the figure is over 100, with 29 also offering optical digital output (see Sidebar Into the Optic).The Delta 170 is based on a Philips single-beam mechanism. Unlike many other Philips-based players, Arcam has completely redesigned the machine, keeping only the basic laser assembly (CDM 1 Mk.2) and Philips data-recovery chips. The entire mechanical assembly is mounted on a vibration-isolated and damped subchassis. Compared with a Philips CD 880 transport, the Delta 170 appeared much more solid. For example, the metal supports that anchor the assembly to the chassis are larger and heavier. Arcam has put much thought and effort into this machine.On the electronics side, the Delta 170 has some interesting design features. These include an optically isolated master clock and dual power supplies, each with its own transformer. One supply provides DC to the master oscillator and digital output stages, while the other serves the player servos and microprocessor. Digital output is in S/PDIF format from an RCA jack, or optical EIAJ (Toslink) connector.

Continuing my hifi clearout: An excellent Arcam Delta 270 CD player & CR25 system remote. Much better than your average CD player (£800 in the early 1990s). Excellent condition and working as it should. I replaced the drawer gear, which had lost its teeth, and checked it over. It sounds great and all the CD remote functions are fine.
