Excellent quality Arcam Alpha 5 is a classical audiophile player made with the very best parts available at its time - the famous TDA 1541a DAC, possibly the most musical dac chip ever and equally famous Philips CDM 9 swing arm laser mechanism, the perfect technical match to the dac.Model 5 PLUS has some significant improvements, central of them is DATA reclock suppressing jitter and improving sonic performance even further. The player is reputed not only for its original high sound capabilities, but as well as object to many successful upgrades, leading to even better sonic performance.
