Here is a really nice Arcam CD 72 CD in excellent condition. It only has very minor on the top of the case showings its age (has been in a stack) plays beautifully with no issues. It comes with its original Arcam CR314 remote control, also in excellent condition (hasnt gone yellow), along with the original owner’s manual also included is the UK plugged power chord. (no original box but will be well packed for shipping) The CD72 is a wo,nderful sounding CD player with performance equal to players of its day costing twice as much. The latest generation 24 bit DAC from Burr Brown and a main motherboard, incorporating the latest thinking on grounding and power supplies, provided the player with a sound that captivates all who listen. Arcam CD players have always offered a well balanced and detailed sound, but the CD72 represents a significant step forward The CD72 uses a 24 bit Burr Brown multi level delta sigma DAC and a proven Sony CD text mechanism. Special care has been taken to optimise the master clock design for extremely low jitter, whilst the main circuit board uses carefully tuned analogue filters with audiophile quality components in all critical areas. The player also comes with a large well screened power transformer and six separately regulated power supplies. Damping is applied to key components which are subject to microphonic effects. The chassis is rigidly constructed for best mechanical characteristics and includes a slab of Sontech sound deadening material, until now only seen in the very expensive CD players; this too has a major beneficial impact on sound quality. Both optical and coaxial digital outputs are included for connection to an external DAC or digital recorder. For sale is this great Arcam Alpha 8SE CD & HDCD Player. I would class this CD player as being in a good, used condition, but there are quite a few marks, scuffs, scratches and signs of wear/use which are all over but most evident to the top panel. Please check out all the pictures as these make up a large part of the description and show the condition well.This CD player is in working order, and the display is nice and bright, and sounds superb. There is a slight issue in that the program button doesnt click/work and as such you cannot program a CD to play certain tracks in a certain order so would need a repair if you wanted to program a CD. Everything else works fine, and it reads a disc quickly and plays quietly. I couldnt test playing a HDCD disc as I do not own any. Have a Google for full details and spec.It comes as pictured with power cable, nothing else included. Will be expertly packaged for delivery and will be sent fully insured too.
